After coming back to the game for like idk 2 years now? With the new ranking system there is actually a reason to use bolt actions again, for example when trying to play with a buddy new to the game. It’s annoying to have to fenaggle the guns of 20+ soldiers individually if you wanna use the same squad and make sure you’re not missing a single one or you will get put in the wrong match maker.

With perks like bolt action speed and optimal squad configuration at 2 being different than 5 (at 2 you might prefer assaulters to low-tier AT, but at 5 you probably want to forgo all assaulters in favor of utility troops with automatic rifles) so I just set them up in completely different squads now, which is expensive but there isn’t any other way around it.
I do however still very much want to see this happen because of the new transport vehicle squads as well as the Soviet paratroopers, as it is now I have to manually change their weapons when swapping between BR presets.
You can change the presets of your soldier individually.
Just configure it, save it and do it again.
