Make players fill the paratrooper crates with their own equipment

Currently the paratrooper crates simply spawn set equipment according to category.

My suggestion:
Have each of these tabs viewable in the loadout screen. Make players get equipment from logistics that fits into those categories to put in there.

This allows for a little more customization within the crates. AT selection for example could be different types of launchers. The MGs could be whatever they put in there, and upgraded accordingly rather than just generalized weapons.

And I think that the crate should fly in a random direction and not always fall where the paratroopers are.

I’d swap out the M1918s for the M1919s.

Big agree, paras are currently a “jack of all trades” that also get the free (and near gamebreaking) advantage of spawning wherever they want, plus building rallies there. This change would help and makes sense, but I honestly think they need a bigger nerf.

The Normandy ones already have some of the best weapons on the whole campaign in their main slot. The box is completely unnecessary, besides for turning one dude into an engineer.

Why not?
After all, the chest is not locked with some advanced lock :joy:

Don’t get me wrong guys, I absolutely HATE dealing with paratroopers. I REALLY don’t think they should be allowed access to a hammer. What you drop with is what you get.

I personally think the best solution (as I’ve said many times) is to allow defenders to have game mechanics that allow them to set up in advance. As dealing with a frontal assault was bad enough, now you have to contend with paratroopers too? The least they could do is make defenders have the knowledge of where future objectives will be, giving them that opportunity to set up.

Otherwise mines are a good counter to paratroopers, but so many people are against a mine pouch to be able to get more, despite them only really being useful for defense.

I wonder how mines are good to counter paratroopers ? :face_with_monocle: :face_with_monocle: :face_with_monocle:

Setting them around the back entrances to the objective and around flank routes is very helpful in stopping paratroopers from flooding through from those directions. Especially when you have to focus on the rest of the enemy team coming from the front of the objective.

It is getting stupid at this point the defenders have too much to worry about they have to be worried about artillery strike or an anti infantry shell hitting them or paratroopers in flanking defenders have too much to do Or suicide planes with bombs or rockets And there’s not enough of incentive to reward an engineer for holding up the entire damn team

I really like this idea!

i thought something more “comical”
like seting them in where the first paratrooper will land.

cause last night i landed on a mine
dont know if the guy was seeing me and decided that funny thing.

You rarely have time for that ™

Oh I agree, Its something you have to do AS you are running in yourself. They really need to slow down the game pace to even give defenders a CHANCE to set up, even just in the case of setting mines.
