Make marking enemies more rewarding so people actually use it

as the title; too few people mark the enemy and trying to bomb precise without marking is like throwing dice . Either give people a reason to mark ( reward maybe? more than 15+ assist), make an issue of the marking in an update the importance of marking targets, or make targets easier to spot from the air… Just had a battle where they marked only 2 tanks of 10 or so through out the game and no marks on anything else… especially on Stalingrad as the Axis forces this is needed, its already heavily unbalanced with kv 1 spam while axis only have late late level tank that can hurt them, and no armor to speak of,

As a pilot, Press c, look around and spam spot. Youll find the tanks from 2-3km away

Better to not have to rely on team mates :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m pretty annoyed as a tanker that pilots can spot me outside of their render distance through trees and sometimes even walls.

I also wish ground forces would spot more often so that this self spot nonsense can be nerfed into oblivion…

Guess it is tho what it is.

I am annoyed that as an infantryman, you are a tanker. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah good point.

Thanks to the wierd way that enlisted handles overlapping key binds on console, I’ve never gotten marking or radio callouts to work while flying, so I have to just hope I’ll see the tank when bombing.

If a tank you marked get destroyed you already get an assist so it isn’t the lack of reward.

Also, if the tank was that much of a nuisance and you took your plane to destroy it you already know where it is, and I go forward, if you get enough experience playing infantry and knowing the map before taking your plane for a ride you don’t need markers at all as you will always know where the other team vehicles/infantry are.

But what happens 90% of the times is someone is taking the plane for a ride before knowing the map properly and has no idea what to do with it and want the poor fucks playing infantry to get them some free kills.

yes because…why cooperate  and mark enemies :stuck_out_tongue:

Why being useful and learning the map before taking a joy ride

its not only about planes, its nice to know there is a tank here and there as a infantryman or a tanker too… why cooperate at all ? and joyride ragejumping in planes is not something i do.

Rule if thumb is, 90% of the times if you can mark it you can kill itn

If they aren’t marking they are either being killed so quickly by it they don’t have time to or they are avoiding it and there’s no point to mark it so the pilot can get his lack of skill compensated by the team.

If you want to talk about cooperation go help the guy who is making useful rally points and defending/pushing objectives by himself, marking targets for the planes isn’t cooperation, is doing all the work so someone else can have his fun.

Nothing wrong with wanting to get detached from the ground gameplay from time to time, every veteran on this forum does it, but putting on your team the weight of giving you your kills on a plate so you can have fun is too much.

Play ground, learn the map, understand how the players behave on the map and use it to your advantage once you want to play with your plane.

was it hard to read its not all about planes? … its nice to know where the tanks are so you dont get a unpleasant surprise, and mostly its because people arent using mark the enemy . And learning a map doesnt help much if you dont know where the tank is to begin with, also not hopping in a plane to hunt for a specific tank… .

Also whats the logic of not marking because you dont want anyone else to get the kill ? Just let it kill and block people from getting past it ?

Yeah, isn’t about plane after all, play the map enough and you can stand laying down near a path they always take and sideshot every single one of them with a AT weapon, learn the map enough and you can move freely around the map without the tank ever bothering you, damn, I remember the times bullets could kill behind wood walls and some soft cover, pretty sure I and several other veterans got a few reports for cheating because of that.

My point is, markers aren’t a “hey, there’s free kills there, go get it” thing, markers are a “there’s some shit on that general direction you may want to avoid/look out for” and there’s plenty of those on every match I play. The issue comes when pilots/tanks/radio operators/mortars want people to give them exact locations they can farm kills on.

Just last night had a friend pounding his mortar for for 5-6 minutes straight on some general locations enemies were coming from, I built him plenty ammo boxes so he could continue doing his thing, but he didn’t in any moment asked me for giving him more exact coordinates and it worked greatly, he successfully denied the enemy team to approach the objective from a entire direction to the point they started hunting him behind our lines.

tl/dr: If those are really the kind of markers you want they are already plenty unless you took one of those really bad teams.

the game i specifically mentioned, i saw 2 markings the whole match… just nothing… also with 50kg bombs … precision is kinda alpha omega … as their blast radius is tiny and hardly hurt kv1s

Also im not after pinpoint markings with all marks, hey there is some shit in that general direction you may want to avoid etc, is good enough, atleast you know where to look and not be randomly running around a corner and get wiped by a kv1 etc.

Ok, you are all over the place, 50kg bombs are quite small, they work but they need some proficiency with planes to use correctly, are they the only ones you have available?

None of your infantrymen have anything better than the 50kg bombs? We are talking about Stalingrad I imagine, isn’t a campaign know for greyzone camping like Moscow and Normandy so maybe some detonation packs or TNT would be better?

Also, as I said, those general markers are everywhere when I play unless some very specific matches, there’s teams that go the entire battle without giving one mark but those are minority and don’t really represent the majority of the games you have.

If you are afraid of coming on a corner and being ambushed by a KV-1 what makes you think it just didn’t happened to anyone who came close to it? Also, why don’t you go there and mark it to see if any other player on the team is better equiped to deal with it?

If you marked but no one got around destroying it, or no one marked it at all during the match is one of those matches with specially bad teams we all have and as said before, they don’t really represent the majority of the game.

There’s 1000 options and alternatives to explain why you didn’t got makers for that specific KV-1 on a specific match, none of those alternatives are “it wasn’t rewarding enough to mark it”.
