I find the current state of gold order soldiers to be quite unremarkable, but the biggest single source of annoyance I have is that in order to make full use of the soldiers, you need to grind the respective squad to unlock the upgrades.
That’s extremely lame and feels like the opposite of rewarding when you spend a relatively rare order to unlock a trooper - "Oh right, I need to now grind the damn assaulter 3 squad for this campaign as well… ".
Therefore I’d propose a relatively straightforward adjustment to make the gold order soldiers more fun and exciting: They should have ALL slots unlocked straight out of the gate, independent of the squad grind.
This would mean that some classes of gold order troopers would be able to use both a secondary weapon as well as well as a bag at the same time, and would generally make the troopers more usable, interesting and fun at the cost of minor power level increase.
I think this should be relatively easy to do as well.

My biggest issue with gold order soldiers is that they don’t always have 16 or higher in each perk slot. Whats the point of spending a gold order on a soldier if he isn’t able to get the best perks in the game?

I just want all to have perfect stats. @Euthymia07 gave me a ray of hope last time and said newer ones do have perfect stats… But it would be nice that older ones do as well.

wait, do gold order troops not come with max roll stats?
I just havent bought one ever.
I think they should come with an extra 100% xp gain on top of bonuses from squad upgrades, this way they can help level up the squad they are in quicker, as well as generate more rewards for using them.

I’ve suggested something similar before, but to circumnavigate the whole Assaulter 3/whatever issue, I suggested to instead make Gold Order troops a completely unique troop type that can be shared between other Gold order troops or completely unique to that soldier if you so desired. They could have unique base perks unavailable to normal soldiers like a base recoil reduction value, fasted build speed, more melee damage, whatever Darkflow wants that particular historical figure (that totally isn’t a real person) to have.
And then on top of that, I also suggested having both the equipment and second weapon slot available for all these unique gold order troop types. I think that would go a long way to make these gold order troops immediately become desired by players when they really have been pretty pointless to people that weren’t buying them for historical reasons.

I believe that they now come with max stat rolls but that is a fairly recent change, and if you bought them before the change you are SOL.
