Tbh I would say that engineer squad is pointless.
What you get with engi squad:
- AT gun that can pen almost nothing that isnāt a starter tank. Of course if you manage to build the damn thing and have enough angle to aim at a tank.
- MG nest that takes a lot of grind to unlock and in battle it can be sniped with ez. At least now you can repair it.
- AA gun that is awful at shootign at planes. Itās just a cheaper, better protected, easier to unlock MG nest.
And it is imo the only reason to consider taking engineer squad instead of placing an engineer in every squad.

I tried, best result - one creewman killed. My target was M5 Stuart.
To be fair M5 seems bugged in terms of its survivability.
Anyway PzIII N with weaker gun has no problem with M5. (AT gun in normandy is Pak40 yes? I donāt remember.)
I tried but it had almost 0 effect (I canāt destroy a plane that tries to ram me). Of course when I managed to turn fast enough.
I preffer to use Bf109, itās much better. Especially G10 (?) version with gunpods is good, shreds A20s like no tommorow.
There is sadly only Pak 38 50mm, that should pen Stuart, but its meh tbh. But Pak 40 in Berlin is pretty good and can do its job easily.
Tbh, after update with planes models i had no problem to shot them down with an AA, you just have to wait for good position. And i almost every time set them on fire and they just crashed.

That is probably because from what Iāve seen you play mostly Normandy. And it is a really wierd placeā¦ For some reason devs decided that we will start with light armored vehicles and the go straight for the heavier ones like Jumbo and Panther. So Pak40 would be an overkill for first vehicles but Pak38 is not enough for the later ones.
In Berlin Pak40 is pure gold and it can oneshot everything that shows up in its sight.
In Moscow I have no problem with using Pak38 against any of the Russian tanks. Even T-50 can be penetrated through its turret and disalbled from the fight.
The only problem is of course the possibility to properly setup an AT gun. But this might change when devs finally introduce the mechanic of moving them around with the help of our squads.

That was Pak 36 37mm, Pak 38 was much better, its almost same gun as later Panzer III 50mm guns, soo its not useless, but its obsolete in Normandy.
Pak38 s the best AT in the game? OK, bye bye.

I have no intention to try to do that. Narrow streets like Willhelmstrasse are not the place for tanks,
I will just take my Panzerfaust, detpack or Panzerschreck (in the future) and blast that IS before he even notices me.
I ASKED if this gun is Pak40. Mishaa sad itās Pak38 and I believe him.
