Make engineers more recognizable

Currently, most classes have something that distinguishes them from each other. It could be their weapons, like MGs, Mortars or AT weapons, or their uniform, such as the NKVD uniform on Moscow Allied assaulters and the camo uniforms of snipers, or their special equipment such as the flametrooper backpack and radio backpack. However, the Engineer just looks like a standard Rifleman(mostly) and has similar uniform. They should add some kind of bag of resources or maybe welding goggles to show that the Engineer is, well, and Engineer and not a random Rifleman, especially since Engineers are so strategically important, and would be high value targets especially for the defenders.

I like all this, but what are you going to give them?
An engineer is literally just a normal rifleman with different training and a toolbox. Not like his uniform would really change much. Just a rifleman that can do math.

But thats exactly the thing here, as regular infantry cant solve simple 2+1 equation and engineer can with that equation build a AA / AT / Radio he should be more recognizable as hes more of a high value target than regular inf.

I guess thats where I am though. What makes sense? Realistically theyd need huge supply crates or like a truck or something for their build materials.

The american engi squad in normandy has gloves, which makes them stand out. It doesn’t really help make them that much more visible, but I know some german engineers had serrated bayonets that could be used as a pole saw (and also made the allies very displeased when they were used in melee). If other forces actually do have distinct uniform elements or kit on engineer type soldiers, they could be cool for flavor.

Not entirely sure I’m convinced of the gameplay importance of this sort of thing, but having them have some visible tools or something could do the trick.

I thought the unit with gloves in Normandy was the 82nd Airborne, or assaulter 1.
