Make Engineer SQUADS worth it again

Please stay on the topic and don’t invite unwanted arguments.

I’ve seen people literally smack a solid wall for 20 minutes. Die. And then respawn to continue. It’s not about being effective, it’s about being low risk and low effort.

That’s a given. It’s still potentially gamebreaking for people to prepare second or third objective in some cramped or urban maps. Berlin particularly comes to mind. And absolutely cover the approach with barbwire. A situation like that is already painful to deal with.

When you put it like that it sounds good, actually. Would make AT mines more relevant. Large mine bags are still a deal breaker any way you phrase it. That’s just asking for trouble.

So, either a fire on my position order to your other mortarman or heavier, less mobile mortar for mortar squad II+ for example? I could get behind that idea.

I’m sorry but all of those things sound like horribly exploitable additions, and horrible additions in general.

You can already take a repair pack with just about any soldier if you’re so inclined.

I think the mortar pit should be left to the mortar squad as a buildable function. Though I’m thinking essentially being able to order your mortars to set up in it, then being able to drop “fire on this position” orders, especially with the use of binoculars. This method would provide an alternative to using radio operator squads with artillery.
It would be higher accuracy and not leave a red circle, but at the cost of convenience that RO have, as well as mortar pits can be targeted to stop them, in comparison to RO that can sit in a bunker and call it in every two minutes.

I digress, that needs to go into its own suggestion topic.

Crazy idea out of nowhere:

1st Engineer squad to unlock has everything normal. But 2nd Engineer Squad gets the possibility to build the Quad flak/Quad HMG for all purpose defense. And 3rd Engineer Squad gets 88 Falk/Artillery, entrenching and creating kill zones.

I think that they need to let engineer squads build stackable defenses. Walls of sandbags or barbwire for example. I don’t know why they removed the stacking option. It was a lot of fun.

They made it more difficult but they didn’t completely remove it. Look it up on youtube if you can’t figure it out.
