Make AI use markers that are visible only to the player who leads this squad.
How it could work:
When AI has enough aggro to shoot, it also places a marker on it’s target. To prevent spam, add a cooldown (10s will be enough I guess) that is shared with every AI in the squad. So no 10 markers in 2s.
This would be avalable for infantry and crews of vehicles. (by TovarishToNy)

Make AI markers increase aggro gain like player markers do.
This would simulate communication in squad (hey, there is jerry over there) and would hopefully prevent situations where single AI attacks a group of 5 enemies.
Player’s marker would have a priority over AI marker to prevent AI going sentient.
Applies only to infantry.
We may argue that spoting targets and commanding your squad is something a player should do. But imo the thing I propose is quite basic and can be expected from something that tries to resemble a squad.

I like this idea, I think number 1 would be cool if it had a voice line when they do the mark so that even other players can hear them say this and look around themselves for the enemy, or if you are the enemy you can start to sweat when you are sneaking to the objective and hear abunch of them shouting over her over here haha.

Indeed.
I agree on point 1, AI marks should only be visible for own squad.
Also agree on cool down time, but there could be an exception if bots spot another threat in a different direction.
Example: your bots spot and mark an enemy squad at your 12 o’clock. While the cooldown is active, they won’t mark any more enemies appearing within a 90° radius from the previous mark, BUT they may still spot and mark other enemies appearing from other directions, like your 4, 6 or 9 o’ clock.
Point 2 makes sense, as long as the squad still keeps some awareness and they don’t automatically all focus on a single threat ignoring all the rest.

AI already react to marks. If you mark a point, let say in the opposite direction of where your AI squad mates are looking, then, they will turn around and focus on the general direction that you marked. It can take a few seconds for them to do so (they are that smart after all) but it can help focusing and monitoring one specific area.
I like your proposing, but I would rather keep an unlimited mark instead (with no cooldown). I have experience a lot of situation where marking a tank did not worked and I had to spam the mark to spot it correctly for others.
Cool but that’s not what I propose.

Yeah sorry I misread. My bad.
Anyway, I will say that any improvement to the AI are good to take. However, if every player in the game has access to this mechanics this might flood the field of view with marks. Even with cooldown.
Let say that every player’s squad place a marker on targets at the same time, it will still be 10 markers in 2s. Having markers at all time might confuse players.
Maybe I am wrong but this is what could happen I think.

Flooding won’t happen because you will see only marks of AI in your squad. You won’t see marks of friendly AI not in your squad.

Considering how shitty teamwork is in this game most of the time, would be much more useful to have my squad mates spot for me or even as tank crew to actually feel like a crew.

I still want two separate marks to solve everything. 1 mark and keybind for team (current red mark) and a second maybe orange mark for only your squad to see and not your team (maybe orange color?) def a separate keybind

Stop having expectation

Bruh they can’t even program a functional pathfinding for AI

While I get what you are trying to do with this suggestion, I think it would make the AI too effective.
- It’s the players’ job to put down the marks.
- This would further discourage players from working together and marking enemies for the team to see.
AI is meant to somewhat simulate squad. Squad should mark. Period.

Being part of a team is supposed to simulate teamwork. Players should work together and not just for themselves. Period.
If that were true why did they remove the yes and no from the quick chat wheel and if we really want to work together we need proximity chat in this game for teamwork.

Players work for eachother.
AI works for the player.
AI’s markers won’t replace “human” markers.
I don’t see a problem.

I really like this idea. AI squads are what makes Enlisted unique so the more capability they bring to the experience, the better.
And I agree that I don’t think it would be that hard to add in. A new colored marker would just appear where your AI is about to engage. It seems like it would be a simple trigger to program.
