because the nature of this game you have to replace soldier often to gain soldier exp, send them to academy and keep going into a battle. but for now you have to change weapons from old soldier first and it is a tedious task.
so I think this feature would be quite necessary for the game

you get this picture - M3A1 and other equipment still with the soldier in the squad

and also do it when replace soldier in academy
so you don’t have to find what squad that soldier replaced and do the weapon changing again

There is the option, even in your pictures to. ‘Remove unnecessary equipment’, click that and it resets the soldier to default. I.E. takes gun and all inventory items and leaves them with the default weapon (M1903 in this case)
You can also, if guns are available, auto equip them.
it takes around 20 seconds to do the changing instead a few second for just drag and drop (I’ve used ‘Remove unnecessary equipment’ as in gif but the gif is too small and I can’t edit the topic)
and auto equip is equip only equip gun and not the gun I want (in this case it gives me shotgun instead M3A1)
also im pretty sure auto equip button dont always show up

I don’t even bother to equip them, they only gonna be in your squad for one round. They level then you chuck in the next conscript. Stock rifle is plenty
then it should have a button or something to do that so you don’t have to constantly check every soldier with a stock rifle in each squad that has reached full xp or still not and is there a soldier to replace them
