About that time again… decided to make a predictions/suggestions list for the new levels in Tunisia.
Likely new levels in campaign progression (no particular order, also, not expecting all at once obviously):
AT Gunners II - M1A1 Bazooka vs. GrB-39 (with Panzergranate 61) or Faustpatrone
Flametroopers II - M1A1 Flamethorwer vs. Flammenwerfer 41 or Lanciafiamme Modello 40
Machine Guns - Vickers K (60 rnd) vs. MG 42
Riders II - Willys MB with M1919 vs. Kübelwagen with MG 42
Riflemen III - M1 Garand with M9 vs. Kar98k with GGP/40
New premiums:
Riders - SAS Willys MB armed with 1 × double mount with Vickers K for the co-driver + 1 × Vickers K in the back:
Riders -SPA-Viberti AS.42 armed with 1 × 20mm Breda Model 35 + 8 mm Breda Model 37
Other:
Airstrike bombers (for radio operators) - Blenheim vs. SM.79 Sparviero
Ideas for future rider vehicles: Universal Carrier vs. L3 or Sd.Kfz.250
All Tunisia Axis AT gun are useless, even after the recent penetration buff.
So please no GrB-39. No more useless weapon.
Piat is somehow good.
But for both Ally and Tunisia, If you have to chose between a demoman and a sniper in your squad, take the sniper, equip it with 3 det pack and put +50% throwing distance.
It will perform better against tank and soldiers. Especially since the BA buff.
IDK, I’ve mostly had a good time with the GrB-39, was there a stealth nerf recently? Either way, when something doesn’t work the answer isn’t to refrain from adding it, but to fix it.
A lot of us think so, that it was stealth nerfed or that some AT weapon mechanics have changed. They are very inconsistent now and no where near as deadly.
As for the OP, personally if we are going to expand Tunisia to be fun, we will need to merge it with Sicily and Italian Mainland invasion fronts. I do not (as a mostly Axis player) want the Tiger in this unless the allies have a good enough land counter, and that’s putting us properly in 43 44 territory IMO.
That being said , 44 would be ideal and bring us some cool Italian TD and Medium Tank. Along with a few other small weapon changes including thr inclusion of the Panzerfaust to help equalize the AT gunners.
True, I should’ve double checked the little weapons. However the Panzerfaust also entered service in 1944. Faustpatrone looks better though, since it entered service in 1943. Has 140mm penetration which is an upgrade.
Yeah but that 57mm has crap filler and breakup potential.
That Normandy Churchill barely dented my StuG IIi, and when it did it was a single crew or module.
Where as thr 88m with its 30+g of HDX is gonna nuke it.
Being able to pen and being actually viable and effective can be two very different things.
Ballistic Capping it only prevents it shattering on Face Hardened Armor. It has the moxy to penetrate, but with little filler, its still a tiny shell, limiting its destructive power inside.
Where as the 88 is going to absolutely demolish the Churchill.
I’m not against the Churchill at all, it’s one of the most survivable tanks of WW2. But its outclassed and outmatched with a 6pdr vs a Tiger.
Like I said, T-34 vs PZ.III J1 or T-50 vs PZ.III J, besides Tunisia allies definitely run rampant and it will be far and few Tigers to ever be seen. I’m sure we would see more Churchills at this point.
I think the natural very last unlock for axis is obviously the Tiger as it made it’s iconic debut in Tunisia. The easy counter for the allies to it would be the historical rival and known Tiger hunter in the campaign, the Sherman Firefly.
I mean one of the main points of this game is that the sides are not balanced 1:1. There’s a lot of asymmetry as its meant to reflect how different guns, tanks, planes, etc operated during the war.
You can have one Allied and one Axis tank in the same class, lets say Heavy Tank, and they will each perform differently because they have their own stats, capabilities, etc
Well the brits used both variants of the M10, with the 76mm and the 17 pounder, so it is possible, but I doubt it. In reality, I expect to see a Churchill III against either a Panzer IV G or a Panzer III L.
Churchill can be added aganaist another tank or aganaist the tiger, i mean tunisia is sufficiently open space for use tank destroyer, wy not add the m10 axis already have the semovente
