Agreed, that’s a bad one. I do wish DF would do something like limit how many high ranking veterans are in a match - even if that means they have to wait a minute or two longer. Everyone has their games when they are wildly outmatched.
And it’s likely to get worse due to the Steam free to play. But, it SHOULD be easier for DF to fix since they will have a lot more new players and scattering the “gold” level players in amongst the hordes of noobs.
In their code for the queue, do a sort based on level “brigadier” and ensure that no more than two of those ranks and above per team.
There’s a no better time than right now when the Steam version is launching to try to make the MM better when it comes to balancing the sides.
I think it’s evident why individuals desert during a match but it’s a pretty sorry excuse if you ask me. All competitions have a losing side and sometimes you’ve got to be a big boy and take an L
There is a difference between loosing and being slaughtered.
His whole team has as much kills as top 3 enemies. There is no point in staying in this match.
Competition means fairness.
we should triple his punishment then.
Some matches can be won even with a big disadvantage (as one above) but yours was lost before it even begun.
Rank is one thing but if I see the other team with all name decorations; that is the fear over gold rank. The rank shows you are active “this” season. An entire team of names decorated is the true sign of getting your ass kicked as they have been playing way longer than a paper gold rank this season
All competitions also have even teams.
You only see ranks after leaving the battle - not while in it IIRC - so that’s a pretty obvious problem with your “reason”
you can see rank of your team and enemy decorations (no decorator=probably newbie, decorator=probably veteran) in preload screen.
wa … what? i had very bad games, but this one? man i feel bad for you the mm is trash something that need to be fixed
I agree with statement and I also agree and recognize their being an issue that need’s to be addressed I’m just not sure deserting a losing match is the answer even if their appears to be a lack of equity & fairness.
All fair competitions have even teams, don’t go saying that ALL competitions have even teams, I can vouch that a highschool team against the Lakers wouldn’t go well.
But we really need to adjust matchmaking to make this more bearable or happen less because this is ridiculous, and this is also the reason I keep crossplay off.
Oh!
It SHOULDN’T be the answer!
That’s what most ppl don’t understand: ppl who desert don’t really do because they like that, they do because there’s major game flaws and they don’t want to pay because of them.
In a ideal game, the causes leading to desertion, would get removed entirely. matches would be fun, for both sides.
Problem right now is the game does everything to reward ppl who stack, ppl who spam, ppl who farm ranks. in fact ranks never helped the game, imo.
Yet. NOTHING is done for those who endure difficult, loosing, unbalanced matches…
Is that normal that, in the OP’s picture, the full veteran, gold ranks, name decorators stacked team gets a reward, and the struggling team, none? Because from my point of view, the USA team didn’t HAVE to give any effort that match… So I understand why ppl on in those clearly unbalanced slogs desert:
It’s the game’s fault for allowing such situations.
