The mech event really brought up the idea of having a weapon within a vehicle activated via a toggle rather than just on button press, especially for weapons that you don’t necessarily control. (Mech flamethrowers)
What I think would greatly help standard gameplay is the ability to toggle an order to the machinegunner seat of a tank to shoot at targets if he has them.
- This would allow the player to focus on using the cannon.
- It enables the AI within the tank to operate similar to standard AI and actually shoot.
- It enables tanker players to more effectively push forward so they have some protection to leave the greyzone without having to rely solely on an infantry escort.
- It enables the use of some weapons that otherwise cannot be accessed by the player due to lack of a command seat. (Ha-Go and other tanks come to mind on Pacific Campaign, where you cannot use the cannon and machineguns from the same seat. Some tanks even having Machinegunner slots that the player cannot access, yet do not shoot on their own.)

Meanwhile jagdpanzers can use the machinegun from the commander seat lol
You can use the machine gun from commanders view in japanese tanks too but then you can’t see where the shells going
I have bad feeling about this. Infantry AI with machine gun are already very good at attacking infantry. AI using tank machine gun might be terminator than can mow down a lot of enemy and shoot enemy behind bushes.
How about just having it as an open slot for a team mate to fill. Spawns in vacant, in principle an armoured mobile mg nest…team mates have no problem yoinking my mg nest from my engineers the second my backs turned. Alternatively Id just like it Hived to the Commander BUT traverse alot quicker (basically the commander cupola MG but while hes buttoned up)
As much as i want coaxil gunners working, would love some coop vehicle features. (You can do it now but its a stuff around).
Wouldnt mind the top mounted 50 cals on allied tanks being accessible to players standing on the back too. (Couldnt find the screen From Fury where one of the infantry walking behind the tanks mans the 50 *EDIT found it)

The ones on the back of the turrets SHOULD be accessible via “change view” with the tanker using the turret seat.
As far as the Japanese Premium tank, those slots should be filled with AI that can use the MGs, as I am suggesting.
I don’t think it should require a teammate UNLESS your tanker in that seat has been shot out. I think for a tank to actually function at its full capacity, it needs to make use of all the seats that your AI can fill.
As far as the 12.7mm (50 cal) on top, I agree that a fellow player should be able to use this when the commander is not, by standing on the back of the tank and using “interact”.
Some of the tanks you actually CANNOT. The Ha-go for example does NOT have this option, as it doesn’t have a commander slot. Only gunner, machinegunner, and driver. To use the Machinegun, you must switch to the machinegunner slot, at which point you cannot use the cannon at the same time or vise versa.
The range at which they will target enemies needs to be limited. Beyond that, it’s up to the angle in which the tank is facing and the turning capabilities of that Machinegunner position. If turned too far, they won’t be able to shoot enemies, and can therefore be flanked.
The suggestion is for the AI to be used more so to defend the tank from infantry running at it rather than being an offensive tool for longer ranges.

Tbh I dont remember ever dying to bot with full-auto, sure it have definitely happened at somepoint but dont recall anything weird happening in those cases.
Unlike quite often getting shot by BA bot in cqc distances, just yesterday bailed out of plane at ~10 meters to get respawn faster but bot just casually shot me in midair before ever getting chance to hit the ground.
And apparently they have decreased bots accuracy significantly on longer distances as its rather rare to get those random potshots on long range by bots.
So in current state I think bots on tank LMG for example would be only good for revealing your position while trying to hit something thru bushes etc.
HMG idk atleast theres a chance of bot getting kill due to rather high dmg.
Overall, in current state considering theyr terrible accuracy on long-range they would be quite useless.
