So, Something that has been bugging me for a few weeks now, is the German MGs on Berlin.
Specifically the MG13, It has the feel of a 25 round assault rifle rather than an machine gun, given that it is incredibly easy to just run and gun with it and its limited recoil.
Now, this isn’t coming from a point of view that the soviets have nothing to match, because the Madsen is truely awful and the DP-27 is great prone, but not much use when firing, but it does just feel like the German machine guns are far superior, almost to the point where they are just outright better than some assault rifles would perform.
I’m not sure if anyone else notices this when playing either side?
But it certainly feels very powerful.
I only picked up DP 27s, but they felt pretty much better than MG-13 even without having to crouch/mount weapon.
As for madsen, it definitely is a bit weaker, but I never had any problems with farming kills with it either just like with MG-13.
To sum it up, MG-13 is definitely strong (and stronger than Madsen)… but not THAT strong imho.
Mg-13 is definitely better than Madson but not by much. Historically, both of them are early assault weapons, like Bar and that French gun, forgot the name. There where iteration after mg13, that didn’t passed the prototype phase and focus was set on creating GPMG. Otherwise it could have been a grandfather of German M2.
MG-13 is definitely better than Madsen. The same way Soviet SMGs are better than German ones. If Soviet players feel like MG-13 are gunning them down far too easily, it’s exactly how German mains feel like when they stand zero chance against PPDs in close and medium combat ranges.
I’ve picked Madsen a couple of times. It offers a different play style and I can l find good uses for it. It’s certainly not the gun you want to use for running and gunning, that’s why Allies have the PPD.
