The firing of machine guns on stone walls structures and the edge of trenches should be the same as grorund mounted, should not bounce around nearly as much if there is something to mount on.
Also fire correction, and tracer rounds would be useful.
Machine guns are seriously unusable as compared to SMGs but their rate of fire is massive but still don’t hit anything in front of them, and have massive recoil with no recoil compensation. These things are way leveraged to be nonfunctional, they should be a much more effective weapon. The trace round would also allow players to know where they are shooting.

A smart way to do it would be to lift Rising Storm 2’s “Proximity Stabilization” system. In Rising Storm 2, when you aim down your sights when your gun is nearby the edges of cover, like the top of a wall or the side of a window or corner, the game stabilizes your weapon moreso than it would be unsupported.
It gives you a little indicator at the bottom to show off whether or not you’re being stabilized, and whether or not your barrel is being obstructed.
In this video from the devs of RS2/RO2 for their WIP game, they show off the system they use around 1:20

personally i hate that feature, i drop down and i cant move my fucking gun towards the enemy bc is already stabilized.
In RS2 the stabilization you’re talking about is the auto-deploy on bipod MGs when you go prone. The stabilization I’m talking about is just a reduction in weapon sway when your barrel is next to something. If you want to avoid that, you can just close your bipod.

oh yes that, it would be a good addiction and idk how the dev team has not implement it already.

Well, you can mount every weapon. It’s a bit buggy but it’s there.
That would be quite nice. But with current recoil and sway the guns have, I don’t see much reason to use it.
Anyway, magazine system in that video seems nice.
