Machine gun nests are ruining the game

Is it just me or are the amount of machine gun neats making this game unplayable? Guys just build them and sit and spray. It has ruined the game play.

Quite the opposite. They are extremely easy to flank and only pose a threat when you run through chokepoints or out in the open without using cover.

I would like to know which campaign do you play. In different campaigns, there are different ways to handle those MG nests. And usually, the MG nest is not a simple trouble and always comes with the imbalance of active players in a match.
If you are playing Tunisa Axis or Pacific Allies, I think there is no good solution to end those HMG or LMGs.

Using smoke is always an option. Even for low level players. It at least gives you enough time to move forward and find solid cover, OR MAKE cover with an engineer. Sandbag walls are not JUST for defense.
While I’m on the subject of using engineers: make use of shovels! Not all campaigns let you dig super deep like Normandy, but in my experience, trenches and sandbags go a long way when it comes to dealing with standard MGs.

HMGs are a bit different, but OP didn’t specify that it was HMGs he was having trouble with.

Are you talking about medium MG nests or the HMGs? I’ve never had significant problems with either.

Additional question alongside this:
Are you referring to the built in MGs like on D-Day map?

Smoke is not so effective when enemy build HMGs on a high place. Now smoke only provides a small area for covering. And the worst thing is that your AI cannot be protected in smoke. I can shoot in random and still gets some kills.

Sandbags are not effective, especially for HMGs. Also, when you build sandbags, machine gunners and tanks are aiming you.

Just because you cannot find a way around it, it doesn’t mean there’s an imbalance issue.
Machinegun nests shape the battlefield turning the game into a strategic challenge. Its the kind of feature that makes this game better then your cheap fps . Its the mix of a strategic and action engagement that makes enlisted an interesting game.
The average enlisted player understands that strategy wins matches and the planning of squad setup makes you consider the challenges you are likely to face in battle.

It takes more than two brain cells to be a decent player at this game so id think its safe to say that every time an enlisted player quits the game to go play cod instead, both player communities average IQ goes up one notch.

It’s you.

Mortar works pretty well on hmg if you can mark it

They’re not that OP.
The light MG nest can be knocked out pretty easily, and the HMG nest can be knocked out with a couple hits.
Building and using one instantly makes you sniper bait too.

Maybe not so well if it is in a room : )

Smoke mortar exists too

Start using smoke. Smoke solves such problems. You can also try to round them, hit them from the flank, but most players, when they hear something about tactics, get convulsions.

Smoke needs a buff, it’s useless now

NOPE,even they are easy to flank, hell we all are waiting for they add more vertical range for allow them be in a first floor for defenses lmao

Japanese MG is actually able to be placed in first floor. And it’s hella enjoyable.

as main of japan, IT DEPENDS, the light machine gun can’t even with the last update, the heavy one, although it can, is still problematic because the one of the allies continues to have more range

Fun fact:
The M2 browning was used as a sniper in the Korean war, and in the Vietnam war by the US.

Machine Gun Nests are a great addition to this game. It’s a WW2 sandbox shooter, what do you expect. They’re another great element to gameplay.

I find most of these arguments boils down into

“Y U kill me!?! U no kill me! I kill U! Game bRoKeN!”
