im confused why one has a bit more hull armor if they’re both the same tank with a different main gun. Also is the BR4 jumbo better to play with against infantry or is it just better to bring the BR5 jumbo with the 76 to have the option to kill other tanks?
Its a tough question, I mean first of all, take a pershing at BR5, the 76 Jumbo is completely overshadowed by those vehicles.
As a general rule of thumb, the short 75 is better vs infantry than the long 76, however the long 76 can pen the Tiger in most places and the Panther in most places that arent the UFP, however past there, both guns become rather ineffective vs the likes of the Ho Ri or KTH which are some of your most common opponents at those BR’s. (technically you can kill at least the KTH frontally, however if you win that engagement, you are winning on pure skill and no edge from your machine.)
They also share the same armour as far as I am aware.

thanks ill stick to the short 75 and use my armor as a distraction. I enjoy hearing the shells bounce from my tank as I slowly creep backwards around a corner
iirc they have same armor, just that sometimes ingame table for tank armor shows different results for tanks with same armor. you can check armor in armor view and actually see if there is difference.
overall 75mm is better for anti infantry, but is struggling with frontal pen on most BR4 and BR5 tanks, while 76w is better for anti tank, but it is still struggling against KT while having less effective anti infantry shell.

They are the same tank - literally - the 76 is one of the 248 75’s with a 76mm gun fitted to it - which is pretty easy since the turret was modified from the T23 turret originally designed for that gun.
Where did you see different armour?

when in the tank selection for the squad the BR4 jumbo has 101 on the hull and 177 on the turret while the BR5 jumbo 76 has 114 on the hull and 152 turret armor
This is why I hate KT, there are a lot of cool tanks in American BR4 and BR5 that I really like, but they are useless against KT.
I just end up using planes to bomb them if they destroy my jumbo or ask the team for some air support if I manage to survive the first shot lol
