John Basilone was added as a BP soldier. Famous for running around hip firing an M1917 Watercooled MG.
Perhaps add this weapon? Would be fine, preferable actually, for me to not be able to shoulder this weapon unless proned or deployed. Or give it a ridiculous slow shoulder time.

Definitely, but starting with the M1917. I believe it was like the standard issue LMG/HMG for a good year or two at the start of the war. kinda surprised we have a bunch of obscure MG’s but not the M1917.

I don’t think it was the “main” one per say. We still used them all the way through Korea, but the M1919 was used more I believe. Being the more modern, aircooled gun and whatnot

Until the 1919 was standard many units used 1917 in the first half of the war.
When did the M1919 become standard? Figured between 1919 and 1942 that’d be plenty of time to make it standard
Actually you’re right. Big but though, the M1917 was still heavily used in the first year or two of the war. Allbeit not the only standard lmg.
