M10 gmc

I have yet to see anyone using this TD in Normandy. So how bad is it? Has anyone found success using it?

The M10 and M18 have great cannons, but the crew sticks out of the tower. The crew, instead of huddling in the middle, sticks their heads out of the turret as if in some ASG clash.

Good to know. I’m about to unlock it, so I was wondering.

I think buying an M4A1 for a gold order will be better than using M10…
Same with P-51 C10 and D5

There are few maps where you can use the power of these tanks. The maps are just too small for them. They perform worst on conquest and city maps.

It has a very slow turret traverse and no coax, the Browning .50 on can only be used by the commander if he stands up to expose himself. It’s pretty bad as a tank, the design forces it to fight as a TD which really doesn’t have much of a place in Enlisted.

M10 has unique and fine cannon.
M18 really has same cannon as M4 76mm which makes it obsolete.

I do use them now and then, they have very capable cannons.
I play them Alot diferently Than when using 76 or a jumbo.

They seam to shine on Omer / train map for me. On other normandy maps I don’t use tanks as much

I mean effectively the wolverine and hellcats with their guns were basically just placeholders until 76mm Shermans became a thing.

The US had however a specific military doctrine in mind when deploying those vehicles - the idea was that when the German army made a break through, the US would have extremely light anti tank vehicles that could move fast to the area in need.

This whole argument that those vehicles were specifically designed to get close to hostile tiger tanks and shoot their sides is pure nonsense, they have always been “fast reaction forces”

Well, in reality, it was not the same cannon to the end. It was a modernized 76mm cannon of the M4 tank, which had a larger propellant charge, which made the shell longer, which allowed it to penetrate greater distances.

The M10 GMC is not bad but it could be better. I don’t use tanks often nowadays when (considering Normandy Allies here) I have the M9 Bazooka so I can do 2 tasks at one time. One being capturing/defending the objective on foot as Infantry where tanks can’t do anything cuz obstacles and the other is to destroy tanks from a far distance when needed.

I can say that I do like the M18 Hellcat which is nimble and responsive which I like! I always expect the enemy team to be spamming Tiger tanks in the 1st place and that 88mm Cannon will cut through any tank with a 76mm so if armor is going to be useless; why not go ahead and sacrifice it for mobility?

I just use the M4A2.
Good for humiliating Tigers and Panthers who don’t watch their flanks, and good for slapping that annoying German rocket halftrack and Pumas with HE.

I just use the P38 like a normal person.

Yeah that’s a good vehicle too.
One of the best (IMO)
Tanks though are good at clearing enemies off capture points especially when they are in buildings.

I wouldn´t even bother with that until I had the Jumbo. The average life expectancy of an american tank crew outside the greyzone is minimal in my experience.

Df doesnt like reality though.

I dont know, irl the M10 had a super slow turret travers that has made using them in every other game I have played with them, F’en miserable.

M10 is just awful. It has a nice gun, but the turret traversal and overall maneuverability is extremely slow. It’s essentially outclassed in every way by the M1A1 Sherman.

Both M4 and M-18 used variants of the M1 cannon - there were only minor differences with no real effect on AP performance - longer recoil, threaded for muzzle brake, different rifling.

DF might give them different ammo for different effect - bu the gun performance is essentially the same.

The M-10 used the older M-7 which had a smaller cartridge with lower muzzle velocity.
