Shouldn’t it do more damage? like 12 or 11? Besides i find it reasonable since the Germans have rifles like STG 44 and i guess increase the damage of the gewher aswell but make it less good since it was the case at least when i came to overall performance
i do agree. semi autos are still weaker from distance. but powerfull in close range. maybe this is how they wanted to make semi auto rifles.
personally i’m fine with them as they are, but i do agree that they might need a slight buff over distance.
thing for me besides historical inaccuracy is that the main service rifle for the US was the M1 and i would like it to play like a service rifle instead of a carbine like the carbine that fires pistol caliber, but if i amm not mistake the m1 fires the same round as the spirngfield bolt action, i get this thing somewhat being done to the gegrman and the soviet ones since they were notorious about being problematic but the M1 was the golden standard, so think it should be at least 12 damage without upgrades like the machine guns and i don’t think the germans can complain since they have also the mauser which great and the stg 44 so thing is serious firepower and their semi auto is more of an otpional thing and tbh i wouldn’t be fun of the americans being relied on the springfield as their main rifle
Gaijin definitely needs to figure out if they want asymmetry of symmetry. When the first promo for the game started, it was advertised as asymmetric (with numbers and strength of fortifications being balancing factors), but they seem to want to unrealistically balance weapons in some cases while not balancing them in other cases.
Back to my Moscow salt about the Panzer II- if they want to nerf the Garand against Germany, they need to nerf Panzers against Russia, as they’re much harder to damage than Soviet tanks.
Most semi-auto’s are capable of 2-shotting enemies on the torso. Please keep in mind that you are not facing premium squads with 35% extra health. The garand deals a bit more damage than the other semi’s, so I think it’s mostly fine as that damage translates into range.
won’t they come back though? (prem squads) i am talking long term at least for this small test ok i guess
I really hope the vitality perk will never makes its way to Normandy
Vitality perk is just cancer for this game, and I want Enlisted to succeed where other games have failed.
I still prefer all of the semi-autos over any bolt-actions.
Even the MP-43 in semi-auto is niiiice with its ability to mag dump at realistic ranges without recoil running away like it would in full auto. That and the Garand I’ve had a lot of success with.
Yet still, I would rather see true assymetry or true balance rather than halfassing each.
For bolt actions to really stay relevant they would have to be able to consistently one shot on torso/head at almost all ranges except very long range. This would not require higher initial damage, as that would allow them to oneshot on any body part. Instead, it needs a flatter damage falloff, maintaining its damage for longer ranges.
Semi automatic weapons can be similar, but slightly steeper falloff and less damage, allowing them to 2 shot kill up to mid range and then 3 shot at mid-long, 4 at long
SMGs should require 3 hits at short, 5 or so at mid and 10+ at long (accuracy also comes into play here)
MGs would behave like semi’s damage wise but can not be used without bipod, unless using one of the “walking fire” variants that have box magazines like the BAR
