M1 Carbine

This is a full review on the M1 Carbine after using it for some time. I haven’t found a German weapon with similar performance so I will not compare M1 Carbine to anything because it’s quite a unique gun.

1. Damage
M1 Carbine deals 7.3 damage per shot. That’s only a bit more than the fully automatic M3 grease gun. Damage drop-off is high so this weapon is unusable at longer ranges. It takes me 2-3 shots to knock out the enemy and 1-2 shots to kill the knocked out enemy (on close range).

2. Recoil
Despite being much smaller and using much lighter ammo, M1 Carbine has the same if not higher recoil than the M1 Garand/ G43. It’s extremely hard to keep the sights on target even at close range so I mostly hip-fire this gun and get more kills than when I aim it.

3. Sights
Sights are OK on this gun. Definitely better than M1903 but worse than M1 Garand.

4. Conclusion
Right now, the only reason why I sometimes use the M1 Carbine over the M1 Garand is because of the ammo capacity. In every other situation, M1 Garand is much better.
I suggest this gun should be buffed, there are two possibilities:

  • Lower the recoil.
    Or
  • Buff the damage per shot

Side note for moderators and CM’s
I got banned for 20 days but nobody was willing to explain the actual reason for my ban. How will I know not to make the same mistake twice? If you know the reason, please contact me via PM.

Thank you

I want this topic to be focused on M1 Carbine :grinning:

Was just making a quick jab
Anyways back to the main topic
From what I’ve heard and my use of it in the initial Normandy test the M1 carbine just needs less visual recoil and a little bit less actual recoil

“Recoil” in this and other games is actually muzzle rise - it is caused by recoil, but is not the samre thing - it is a torque reaction due to the difference between the line of action of hte bullet and hte line of resistance of the hand/shoulder - this is why a pistol can have much more muzzle-rise than a rifle even though it has a much less powerful recoil.

The wiki article explains it fairly well IMO: Muzzle rise - Wikipedia

I think its damage ls fine once you buff its recoil, its a mid range weapon and you can actually snipe with it under 70 80 meters.
Just decrease recoil and its fine

Damage is more or less fine, the M1 Carbine just needs less muzzle climb. It should at least be the same as the M2 Carbine, which has more than 10 less vertical recoil than the M1.

Wow it’s fully automatic AND it has less recoil, isn’t that broken :joy:
