Some have said that they think from now on Paratroopers should be just like the latest Soviet Paratroopers and basically allow you to choose their primary weapon and thus having no unique weapon. I disagree with this. What would be the point of adding more Paratrooper squads if they have no unique weapon and you just give them base game weapons
I have kind of grown attached to the traditional method of each Paratrooper squad having a unique weapon. It’s nice to have a unique squad. So much so that I’d want them to change the Soviet Paras and give them a unique weapon like all the others. Regardless, I want the tradition to continue of all future Paratrooper squads having a unique weapon
Now at the moment Germany is the only faction that doesn’t have an early BR Paratrooper squad. I’ve seen the complaints here
First, I would say move the Italian Paratroopers to BR 2. They were originally from the Tunisia Campaign in the first place. It would be more immersive so the Italian paratroopers would be able to fight in Tunisia and Stalingrad where the Italian faction fought….instead of dropping in to defend the beaches of Normandy and the Reichstag. If there is any issue with their flamethrowers all they have to do is make it so they only receive 3 of them from the box just like every other Paratrooper box loadout instead of 6.
Second, just add low tier German Paratrooper squads. One weapon squad idea could be the G40K, an experimental Kar98k carbine. Another could be the Paratrooper Kar98k, an experimental take-down rifle similar to the Japanese paratrooper rifles. These squads could be based on the Paratrooper units that dropped on Crete in 1941, or as with anything I’m sure they can pull some random Paratrooper division out of somewhere for inspiration
To be honest I would prefer if paras stay with unique weapons as without them they just are soulless nightmares to balance.
Having paras jump with the current best in slot meta weapons everyone is already useing is just not interesting nor does leave room for future para squads to be viable unless you powercreep them even more…
As it stands there is little reason for anyone to get exited for a new soviet para squad (regardless of premium or event) because the only thing diffrent will be 2 weapons inside of the box and thats it. The only reason for a third squad would be cycling them 3 times but there just isnt anything interessting and new what they could offer.
do not touch the Italian paratroopers and the flame thrower unless you start touching the Americans because they should not be able to drop down with six squad support weapons
Making Folgore Italian paratroopers BR4 is the worst joke of the current BR system.
OG-43 is a BR1 gun, it completely unreasonable that the squad is BR4, why? just because they have Flamethrowers, a blatant lie because all other factions’ paratrooper boxes change according to BR.

With the new fluid Paratrooper BR box system, I would have their flamethrowers remain at all times no matter what since it was unique to their squad in the first place
I would prefer some sort of SMG for them as a every other paratrooper squad it goes up against has at least a semi auto weapon, with most being SMGs, just to make it more balanced.i would understand if they just gave it a kar98k that is a few inches shorter or can be split in half because darkflow loves making the axis paratrooper squads infinitely better than the allied squads
The British have BSA Welgun, while the Soviets have PPS43, so German paratroopers must have at least MP40.
Of course, it’s best to have the freedom to choose weapons. Personally I think Beretta M38>MP40, I will equip these German soldiers with Italian weapons.
However, from an authenticity perspective, if low-tier german paratroopers were to appear, it is highly likely that their main weapon would be an MP40 or something similar.
