LMGs being used as assault rifles need to be addressed

What battle rifles, assault rifles and bolt action rifles have to do wirh LMGs being OP?

My point is that LMGs are not the ultimate weapon everybody uses even in games with no limits to equipment.
They are not OP. They do not masacre whole servers.

they balance out the LMG’s im sorry but a LMG like a BAR rifle, nor does a compare to a 1903 Springfield, or a garande, you talk about bot and noob hunting this will be seal clubbing,
and you are right as its is, the LMG is not the ultimate weapon, give it a bipod and increase its accuracy as you want to and it will be, i suck at shooting but can easily hit anything under a hundred ,meters in game with a lmg as it is

Dont forgot the proposed tradeoff being brace…cant aim down sights while not using bipod, cant shoot unless braced, move very slowly or not at all while braced.

Pretty big trade off…ultimate weapon when you are already setup, very mediocre when you are caught between positions.

that’s the problem its not a trade of its a change in function, you’re going from an oversized SMG to a rapid fire sniper rifle, that the problem imagine three LMG a player and two bots prone in a building or field with overlapping fields of fire, meat grinder
A trade off is where you give one thing to get another, an assault shotgun or DMR give up stopping power for rate of fire the shotgun is still a close short range weapon while the DMR is still a long range weapon
it would be like taking a pistol adding a stock and grip and turning it into a carbine you are changing the function

The mg would be giving up mobility…

That’s the goal.

Bots kill maybe 5 enemies each and get killed.
Player gets flanked, surrounded and killed. Or gets killed by a tank. Or by a plane. Or by a sniper. Or a mortar. Or a grenade. Or artylery. In general he is a bullet magnet.

I don’t see a problem.

And LMG is a fire support weapon.
It delivers firepower at the cost of bad mobility. That’s it’s function.

that might be true but then you have to give the ability to mount in windows, on sand bags and other bits of the map, you would turn every part of the map into a machine gun nest

even if its true its not its role at the moment and as a static weapon its only good for defense meaning you are shifting combat meta

you turn one heavy machine gun into a squad of three, and if you make lmg’s less mobile you have to make MMG even less mobile then that

interesting to watch if nothing esle.

That’s their purpose?

LMGs (even HMGs) can still be used for atack. But not for assault.

In atack their role is to cut of enemy reinforcements and allow assault groups to move to the point.

Two of them are manned by toddlers.

Currently MMGs are stationary. So it can’t be worse.

Mechanics I and like 20 ppl suggest is present in BF and HLL. In neither of those games MGs are dominant even though BF doesn’t have any equipment restrictions.

So case study says: NO IT WON’T BE OP

Again those games don’t compare there not squad games with a single player leading toddlers, so until you can compare a game like Enlisted the only thing i will hear is a dog whistle

You are right. Those games have players that are 5 times more deadly than enlisted bos.

So my point stands stronger. PLAYERS with LMGs don’t slaughter each other in those games. Neither will our stupid AI.

yes seeing half the enemy team quit if the first minute if the find themselves on the attacking team will make the game so much better

Then limit bipods to players

IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN GAMES WITH 100% REAL PLAYERS
So why should it happen in a game with retarded bots? They are way way way worse than players.

1 becuase in player player games a player gets one gun to use at a time not 3, and second i am not worried about bots killing players but bots and players slaughtering bot

Tbh I don’t know if AI could use bipods even if we would like to.
I guess te best we could theoretically do is give them a flat +10% accuracy bonus when they are prone or near a ledge a player would mount on.

I don’t see a problem.
AI is stupid and will get maybe 7 kills each. IF it’s babysited.

Happens with literary any other weapon. Like tanks.
