Leveling rework?

as it is the currently the leveling system is not more then a underthought out mechanic, and should be revised, a better idea for leveling would be giving players that level up a ticket to either unlock a weapon, equipment, a squad or a vehicle of their choosing that could also have some level limits, instead of just unlocking some thing that we may or may not want, it would help with help keeping newer players interested longer as they would have the means to get some of the “better” gear to combat higher skilled players

Not gonna happen, grinding is a constant factor in all Gaijin published games. They even doubled down on it, they’re recycling the T-28 instead of letting us choose ammo loadouts.

Normandy was in 1944
Tunisia was in 1942

That’s why the most recent weapon are more easy to obtain in the most recent campaign

But how would it change the grind, people would still have to grind the same amount of xp and as I said some things can be level locked

I think they should do it as a tech tree with different routes you can take.

Not even talk about the fact that when you unlock a new squad you still need to buy/level up the soldiers and the weapons. I think the worst is the weapon level up system. Why not connect the stars with the number of kills you made with the weapon instead buying stuff from logistic (I know I know, money, income, business model, etc). Dismantling guns is really a pain (specially because we have to do it individually - 5 soldiers 5 levelling)

I for one would like to see side grades with reduced xp requirements kind of like the
tank variant research in WT, use the MP-38 get xp to unlock the MP-40, use the M1 Carbine enough to get the grenade launcher version etc.

I mean that makes sense for the PIAT, but not the STEN, Lanchester, Winchester, or Thompson. All of those weapons had been around for years by 1944., so why are they unlocked so late?
