Lets talk about Confrontation mode

What do you thing about the new game mode “Confrontation”?

At the moment my main problem with this mode is, that you must be very lucky to join a match with this mode. I have played the new mode ONE time out of 10 matches. Maybe next time we can get a separate log in button for the new game modes, so that we can test it and play it when we want.

Tunisia map got waay to spaced points for this mode.
After capping middle point the attackers have 200m to fight through in few minutes.

On Moscow map it’s like 70m from point to point, but another issue i found was even though our team was winning, we capped first, but get pushed back once, the score said we were losing.
We had to cap the last point to win, otherwise we would lost even though we were ahead in captured points.

What’s the point of capping if game rewards camping?
Definitively confrontation mode still has major isssues, but it’s nice addition and i hope to see it improved soon.

I like the cap zone lock for prevent instant push, hope this arrive even in the other mode

I strongly dislike the concept of winning by tickets rather than winning by zones captured.

In a couple matches I’ve played (also, why don’t we have playlists with new gamemodes? from all campaigns?) my team lost despite holding the majority of the zones just because as attackers we were forced to rush and attack the point, while the ‘defending’ team just had to dig in and repel our advance.
As a result - loss due to ticket loss despite map control.
So in fact it is more logical to not go and fight but to sit back and save tickets?

I believe BF1 got the winning conditions in its similar Frontlines gamemode just right: there were two telegraph stations at the end of each base which needed to be blown up after the capture of the last zone, but if they were not blown up, the team which held the majority of zones will win.

That’s a band-aid on gaping hole of non-existing playerbase, no matchmaking, skill issue.

Would be nice on older maps where caps are closer though

i got the confrontation mode 5 times in a row a couple days ago. but i was playing axis berlin and won withing 10 minutes every time so i have no idea if its balanced or not lol.

it was fun though i guess. but that might just be because i was tired of every other mode, so its hard to say

I have actually wound up playing it several times, in fact several times in Tunisia, some of the matches have been extremely long, in fact one time it was so long that about half of the players left and the game was like over an hour long.

At first I was not convinced that I liked it, but now I’m kind of warming to it but I’m still on the fence, it doesn’t bother me necessarily that it runs long sometimes but I have the patience for that I’m not entirely sure everybody does as evidenced by again about half of the players leaving the game before It concluded

I played it once in Normandy and it sucked.
That’s about all I can say about it.

Really enjoy the mode but the scoring needs to be changed. Had a match on Normandy where we took the first point, attacked the second point but got pushed back, took the first point, then the second, and we were about to push the last point but lost the match because we ran out of tickets.

Only had it once but want more of it and on more maps! Going to look out for well populated custom
matches if it doesn’t come up more. Imagine losing on tickets would be irritating but this was won by capturing the last point having initially been pushed back. Love that it’s less linear and always felt like it could be turned around. I like the variety of it and if they are longer matches that works for me! Really cant stand getting conquest - its just throw yourself at objectives for 10 minutes and see what happens. Also just had a rare assault match - love that too - bit more give and take, rather than invasion which is too often either storming all the way through or never getting anywhere near.

i only dont like how bad you win/lose with it, either you stomp the other team and it just turns into invasion or you get stomped

We are talking about the Confrontation gamemode.
Meanwhile you described the whole game.

[Sarcasm if you didn’t notice.]

I think it would be better to just remove reinforcements as a whole from the Gamemode and do similar to BF1 where whoever the team that captured most objectives in the total of the match time but didn’t manage to capture all is the winning team or whoever hold the majority of the objectives for the most time could work too

Out of 10 matches i only got 2 confontration and surprisingly an Assault game mode 2 times. whats the point of introducing a new game mode if the most of the time you get put into an invasion mode 24/7

Compared with the normal intrusion mode, the confrontation battle is special because, compared with the very fixed offensive / defensive role decision, in fact, any party can both attack and prevent the counter attack by establishing a revival point. My personal suggestion for this mode is to open the limit, so that a player can build up to 2 revival points (sometimes it is very bad that our troops can not keep up with the points and are suddenly captured by the opposite side). In addition, I also hope that this mode can have a limit on the total game time. I played with my friends for nearly 40 minutes in a previous game, Second only to the previous high-intensity train escort mode in Berlin (the longest time was more than 1 hour!)
