Let us shoot when you switch to a squadmate on fire

Simple suggestion: Let us shoot when we switch to a squadmate on fire.

Because right now, when you switch to a squadmate on fire you are just stuck in a loop where you can’t shoot nor extinguish the fire. You either crawl to safe area, extinguish and then shoot, or just die trying it.
It’s about time we nerf the flamethrower mechanic a little.

I say flamethrowers should cut your movement, which would include turn rate, while spewing out flames

Can’t we walk while firing a flamethrower?
Maybe it’s a little too extrem of a nerf.

you walk at normal speed while in use and you can spin around like a spastic whilst doing it

Nah I mean in real life.

I think I’ve never seen somebody walking with a flamethrower. But I think it’s just for dramatic effect.

Or we could just fix the bugs, there’s no way it’s intended to just burst into flames when you’re within 4m of a spark or the fact your flames are somehow racially targeted, they don’t immediately set you on fire but your team and the enemy, even enemy flametroopers instantly ignite, you can run though your own fire briefly but the enemy throws a molotov you instantly combust. There’s also the AI all getting 2 or 3 flamethrower squads each and they instantly all aim and in sync give you the john Marston treatment if you pull out yours

That’s not true at all. The soldier is automatically trying to extinguish the fire, and they will succeed in doing so provided they aren’t still standing in the fire. You’re also capable of ceasing attempts to extinguish the fire by pressing the button and then shooting.

Shooting button should then just cancel other order like extinguishing. You know when for example you are reloading bullet one by one and want to shoot.
