Let us request ammo from friendly players, just like we can with bots. If you request for ammo an ammo marker will appear above you for friendly players, and their bots will give you a magazine. Right now getting more ammo is really difficult.
Quick story how i thought of this. Last obj on defense in fortified district. After the MG42 broke i took out my MG34 gunner that was left in my squad. Sadly the amazing enlisted AI failed me after they refused to stay in the bunker. So i couldnt get more ammo since the enemy was rushing the point and previously i only had time to build a rally point.
So as i load my last drum in after 150 rounds spent and 17 kills, requesting more ammo in the chat. No one cared to resupply their only person and only hope of holding off the horde of enemies nearby.
After spending my last 50 rounds i was begging friendlies in chat for ammo, and not surprisingly no one cared.
The devs added quick chat, I think an icon appears above your head too, for both ammo and rally points, but maybe the player doesn’t see them, their bots do?
But yes I have spammed this quite a bit and seen people react, but it depends on players.
Getting ammo directly from soldiers (like in Red Orchestra) would be easier than getting an ammo box. Also, bots of other squads could be programmed to do that.
The human player will have to give you ammo, not their bots. Some guy requests ammo out in the open and my bots run out and kill themselves trying to resupply him.
