ever since creating custom missions is a thing we had a news post about unique locations every so often…
but whether one launches the game and visits custom battles… there isnt much to see, they all die very soon or are never even played
to give authors of those maps respect they deserve, i think community should be driven into playing them, and a great way to achieve this is by enabling progess on custom maps that get approved for it.
actually we might not even need an approval mechanic, and just enable it on all maps… on unbalanced ones, people at a disadvantage will just leave, making such maps useless for grinding
i agree, ive always preferred joining a less clustered custom match rather than be put in a matchmaking match with random people, with custom matches we will know right away who we’re with and who we are against. unlike the current system which generally speaking made me avoid matchmaking at all costs.
imagine how much more fun would it be if we could earn proper xp without xp deduction because there’s not enough players in a custom match? people would appreciate this alot, including me.
i would definetly appeciate if i could play gun games maps and earn xp while killing players and switching to random weapons after certain amount of kills, this is real fun for me.
Thing is. A costum map can be good how much you want but withaut be officially tested and accepted by developers team for avoid unbalance and other shit, developers never make possible gain xp on it
i’ve literary made an argument against unbalance… where one guy has advantage the other wont, and this will make people playing at a disadvantage leave unbalanced matches, making them useless for grinding.
we would need the entire custom games reworked though.
like, accomodate the long awaited and needed features.
personally, both the limits in the mods and the editor are keeping me back from doing great and big things.
i have to cut my mods in multiple pieces because of the size, and even worse, as i want to make pves, i need people to join the other team 2 in order to allow people from team 1 to even play.
otherwise the match wont start because the balancer creates issues.
in other instances, i wanted to make bots outnumber the players to create some sort of wave defense.
yet, team balancer or the inability to lock one team prevents me and many others modders to do so.
we can’t kick or ban people if they do not follow the rules and / or teamkill just because they can and want.
we can’t give names or descriptions to the customs.
We already have Mod Digest every few weeks.
It would actually be news if mods that get spotlight also get greenlight to get xp in them.
