On altitudes we’re fighting on this is not a problem, and it’s not inaccurate either, many pilots kept the canopy open, for many reasons, only closing it during combat (though that wasn’t a guarantee either).
most ww2 planes aren’t high altitude ones unlike later series. So yeah many pilots keep canopy open for a reason. My great grandpa who served the red army also taught my grandpa that opening ww2 canopy doors is best because you can see much better and clearer view because Il-2 windows are obstructed ;-;
