Let us equip bayonets on Sniper weapons

Mock up image

Sometimes, I take the scope off of a sniper weapon so that some units in my squad are capable of close range fighting if the need arises. Because we have the option to remove the scope, and are left with an empty attachment slot, I see no reason why you could not equip a bayonet in place of the scope if you wanted.

You should be able to do both since nothing impedes the bayonet when the scope is equipped.

That would be ideal but Darkflow would have to create a 2nd attachment slot I suppose

They should; tons of sniper guns would be able to use this.

Maybe we can have a 98K equipped with a bayonet, a sniper scope, and a grenade launcher.

I have seen many war series and movies over several decades (some of them in black and white). I have also seen hundreds of documentaries and war footage.
But I never saw a sniper rifle with a bayonet.
I know that Enlisted is a video game set in WW2 and doesn’t have to be realistic, but I think requiring a sniper rifle to have a bayonet is going too far.
For example, consider how realistic it would be if a handgun or heavy machine gun also had a slot for the bayonet, that would be very bizarre.

If you want a sniper to be able to defend itself in close encounters (which should be rare, since a sniper should be far from the front), equip it with a hand pistol.

I know that hyperrealism is not something that is necessary in Enlisted, but I don’t want it to go to the other extreme either (there are other games for that, like Fornite)

We have an RPD with a foregrip as a normal tech tree weapon, but you want to draw the line at equipping a sniper rifle with a bayonet?

Does it have a bayonet lug? if yes, sure. If no, sorry you are out of luck.

I mean… Japan has a katana blade on their pistol and they put bayonets on their light machine guns

It is not rare, the grey zone of many maps prohibit any long range engagements in most situations. But that is why in my original suggestion I showed having to choose between a scope or a bayonet, not both. While this is a niche issue, the premium sniper squads such as the G41, P14 enfield, etc have their engineers stuck with sniper rifles, and I would prefer to just take it off and use it as if it were a normal rifle. But being able to swap it with a bayonet should be available to every sniper rifle for people to use for whatever reason they want

bayonets on sniper rifle were a thing.

and should be a thing.

despite what that other member falsely claimed.

funny if we consider that the bayonet often helped to " balance " the recoil through the weight at the barrel. at least, that’s what veterans claimed.

which i find baffling the argument about " historical accuracy " as it’s nothing but a farce by people that still are clinging on in a huge dose of copium… or whatever keeps their fantasy goin.

the only exception should be, no bayonets on the g43 since there were no attach points for that rifle.

anyway, you can try in game the kar 98 with both a scope and a bayonet here:

https://sandbox.enlisted.net/post/ozeeUEnycKEpd6VE/manifest/7/

and if you are lucky, you might get a mosin from a sniper that also has a bayonet and scope.
unfortunately, i cannot make a g41 with scope and bayonet unlike the soviet svt 40/38 that can both mount a bayonet and a scope.

because we cannot add attachment to weapons that don’t have them in the original blk.

however, you can mount on those who can.

therefore, it definitely should be a thing, and would do nothing but improve scoped weapons.
especially for those type of players like me that tends to be agressive even with snipers.

irl they had basically never bayonets
