Personally I only use AVT-40s in semi, having to always switch them away from auto gets tiring/confusing (when you start switching between squad memebers, sometimes you automatically switch semi to auto)
My muscle memory is so strong I switch AS-44s to semi half the time by mistake
Just let me set them to defaul to semi all the time

Yes,this would be nice to see.same with the FG42S and many other weapons ,always have to switch the fire mode manually to fully use it.
Tbh, isn’t easier to just use AVS-36 instead?
But AVS-36 is way worse than the AVT-40

Yeah this feature was implemented at some point, but than later it just disappear. Don’t know what they are doing.
In my opinion - no need of that. It is not a problem to press a button and change the fire mode.
I do it every time for my BAR 1918A2 (slow auto) and I do not complain.
In some other games players cannot even change a fire-mode, yet they must play that crap.
Except sometimes you switch to a different soldier
Then switch back and put the gun in auto again and die because of it. Its just frustrating
Bots shoot better with full auto. If i would ever use fg 42 i would want it to be full auto and not semi auto
