I dont think you are talking about “respawning” rather taking controll over one of your AI squad mates.

Did they change something? My AI troops always have full ammo. Maybe 1 less round in the magazine.

this was made so you dont switch to bot with 1 ammo(happened lots of time before). so when controlled soldier dies and you switch bots, they automatically reload so you can have full magazine.

Well your AI uses ammo.

Surprisingly, when you use ammo, you will have less of it eventually. That’s why when you switch soldiers they have partially loaded mags.

Just purchase some pistols if this really annoys you. They’re really easy to get after the price reduction.

DF system is stupid though.

I am using soldier ‘A’. Soldier A has a SMG for example with full magazine (or maybe 28/30 bullets). A gets shot.
I respawn as B, pick up the SMG I had literally 1 second ago. It now has only 5 or 10 rounds left and one or no magazines left.

Why is that allowed? It makes zero sense and is wrong.

@JollyGood1 be less aggressive and say what you want in a correct English next time, now for answers your question, bot in combat use ammo and reload once it reach 0, they don’t use your weapon ammo reserves because they have their own, they just use the first magazine/strip clip, if you auto reload every time you switch to a bot is because they have something like less than 5 bullet, and so the soldier auto reload, try to keep them less on the line of fire with squad command if this bother you
