Latest update renders tank's HE rounds and bombs near useless

They made sniping with tank from grey are even more easy because 100 kg bomb to tank does barely anything atm and still it wasn’t guaranteed way to destroy tank even earlier.

You need to either fix the blast radius and damage caused by both HE rounds and bombs or just return them to how they used to be as now they are pretty much just grenades / explosion packs being shot out / dropped by a tank / plane.

Why am I not surprised that people are calling for a reversion to the changes? Are you a plane main? Because reverting it to how it was would not be fun for anyone who plays infantry. At all. For me the changes feel really good. Buildings actually work to shield you from bombs, I still die when a bomb lands nearby, and going prone actually does something.

It may hurt for plane mains, but this feels like a much needed change for everyone else. Wiping out a shit ton of soldiers with 500lb bombs may be realistic, but it’s not fun for people on the receiving end. Maybe they were overnerfed, but until now infantry have had been at a plane’s mercy with very little in the way of defending themselves. Unfortunately Normandy still feels like a massive issue but I’m hopeful it will be fixed in time.

Planes only make up a small portion of the team in game. The way things were before wasn’t healthy for the game and a lot of people have made mention they were quitting the game until planes were fixed. Hopefully this change will actually bring people back, and Darkflow will make adjustments so things are fair for planes and infantry.

Bit of an overkill nerf to bombs I agree especially vs tanks. I kinda like that they aren’t nuking infantry as much but they should make them more deadly vs armour.

Also the nerf to HE shells is really annoying as this wasn’t in the patch notes a 75 mm HE should also still kill a broadside puma but at present does nothing. But my 50 cal machine gun can still kill it. Needs some work.

Just make tanks more vulnerable to bombs. Seriously, if real life worked like this game planes would be dropping tnt packs from the sky as that would be the best way to take out a tank.

Honestly grenades are giga aids now killing through cover and what not at a whim
Bombs seem better than before too, least the smaller ones do

I heavily use tanks I like them, even if this update nerf the tanks I will take it.

I like not being obliterated by retards that have to only press space in flying fortress.

I can confirm Pumas being MUCH more resistant (yet not immune) to 75mm HE. The usual guaranteed OHK shot on the side doesn’t work anymore.

Which is potentially more game breaking than any othe of the recent changes!!

Well, not to the point of being game breaking, AP and TNT are still effective.

Btw. does anyone feel changes on the plane models?
At least the IL feels as spongy as before.

IL-2 goes down a lot easier than before for me, but I have yet to test the new DM of the SB2m or the heavies in Normandy

Still feels spongy AF. Needs a bit more of a tweak. Fighters especially seem to take a long time to shoot down.

Landed a HVAR rocket on a JU188 that ripped it’s tail off before it could bomb my team. That was satisfying.

Cannot confirm for all campaigns though.

Idk It would be nice if you see the impact of your hits on the plane like it works with tanks.

I think they’ll be adding it as we go
I cut the tail off a 109 the other day and it started doing backflips

From what I saw, it’s a thing already :expressionless:

Not the smoke which appears all the time.

Planes dmg model feels really close to warthunder now. If you shoot the weak spots it will go down consistantly.

At least trenches seem to work better against the bombs now, just lay down and you should be alright as long as it didn’t land right next to you inside the trench. Same can’t be said for the bots though.

As for nades, sandbags and laying down behind it does not work, unfortunately you’ll still die to it even if the nade lands on the opposite side of the sandbag. I was hoping they would protect from nades now.

Have you tested with AA (or anti infantry as I like to call it)? You can’t really aim for weak spots with that.

Planes still feel like they take a lot of damage. I put countless 20s into a p-38, aiming for engines and wings and it still flew around like it hasn’t been touched
