Later Fighter planes are overall an downgrade for overall combat

Just got the F-109 F2 fighter and sure its amazing at flying. How ever the 15mm is just an pure downgrade of the 20mm cannon even if you get more ammo. Still had to empty 400 rounds of 15mm including a lot of 7mm just to barely get an IL2 down which resulted me having to go refill for another attack. And thing is i was close behind that plane and hit almost every bullet.

And here comes the second part. Since you now dont have bombs you can only do strafe runs which i do admit its better at cause of all those rounds but that is way much harder asw since you need to accuratly find, see and hit the infantry on the ground which results in you being less effective then the last planes models. This will also apply to the Russian fighter plane which also has to strafe if they cant hunt planes.

So i would suggest to either pack them with bombs (2x50kg) or more ammo. And that planes does one hit kill enemy inf or at least down them even from longer distances. Ik you want realism which also has their effective range but some small change need to be done to these fighters in my opinion since i see no reason why not to use the F1 model except to get an slight more agile and faster plane

fighters are overall kinda pointless
most factions have attackers with autocannons that can keep the sky clear, with much better anti grouind capability

i can perform pretty well only flying Fighter an whole match, point wise to. But with this later fighter its just blend in a way and an let down with the new weaponry which i thought was going to be more effective against an lvl 7 tincan which is rly made of Titanium it seems. It felt the same overall against biplanes to so makes no difference except its faster and turns bit better. Sure its more forgiving ammo wise but since the ammo is worse then the 20mm you have to hit them more which makes it the same anyways

The best plane is the IL2 with roquet and bomb russian (Berlin).
He protect, he attack but most importantly he fight back.

With all the other plane it’s ok to suicide bomb since you gonna die anyway from the fighter.

Ok i might have prematurely bashing the plane and its capabillity since ive realized it pretty much rocks. Especially during strafing since it cuts thru buildings like butter ^^
Idk if some also cheats with their armor on the planes… or something isnt right with the coding on those hitbox wise. I mean i know that you crit certain parts but still… Some are much easier then others even if i do the same approach. Some pilots in planes can tank everything you throw at them and still fly like nothing happened, which was why i was wondering in the past if they where bots with like 300% armor or something which ive heard there wasnt…Im confused…Heck i even unloaded a lot of 15mm and 7 in to an biplane once and still he flied away like nothing happened while others would just had burned up or got smoking bad in seconds

How ever 2x50 bombs instead of 4 wouldnt hurt though to keep it more helpful during the battle

The 15mm is not good. The best is the 20mm. You biplane will go down in a short burst. An IL2 can go down in a short burst as well, but needs precise shooting

its stalinium, Comrade

lol true ^^

Idk depends on the campaign. The P51D is a straight upgrade to earlier fighters since it carries two 500 LB bombs, and it’s still solid in the air (.50’s start fires like crazy, idk why). The Berlin Soviets get the Yak 9-T with the 37mm cannon on it which will one shot any plane it hits which is also awesome.

Like others have said, fighters are weird because 75% of people just suicide bomb in planes so you can’t exactly shoot them down anyway. Your best bet is just to bring an attack plane unless you have multiple extra squad slots

Theres pleant of dogfights to go around in Moscow rn. Well pleanty of ppl trying to stab you in the back while going for reload and if they fail they just crash their planes xD But ive met some really good aces though now and then with Mig and Yak. Also met one rly good biplane pilot which made spins like no tomorrow. But youre right mostly people just crash em

As I try to max out all squads in all campaigns I find it pretty difficult and tedious to do so with late fighters without bombs or rockets in Berlin and Tunisia. They require tons of XP to level up and all they can do is try to hunt down enemy planes (that in some battles you won’t see a single enemy airplane), because strafing infantry in Berlin where you can’t really see enemy soldiers is mostly pointless.

Strafing is an good tactic with Fighters when there is nothing in the air. Ive been decimating infantry on the ground and in buildings and it makes an suppressing effect on them while your infantry closes in (careful for the hacking AI though that snipes you xD). Sure its harder to do but you get 60 points per kill and assists pops up now and then to. When you got bombs asw its easier since you can much faster head back and reload after to then re engage compared to the bombers

I have to give the Tunisia campaign credit for teaching me how to strafe in Enlisted. Before Tunisia I had tried in the past, but I just wasn’t figuring it out.

My biggest gripe now is that we can’t set convergence on the machine guns/cannon (I’m talking of the Spitfire, specifically). That means adjusting the aimpoint on ground targets to accommodate the spread of the guns on the wings. Not impossible, but frustrating.

Biggest advantage of a dedicated fighter is to keep the ground attack airplanes bottled up. Super important as the attackers, IMO.

I’ve had this one battle in Tunisia where I killed over 40 infantry with just MGs in Hurricane (single spawn), but in Tunisia you can actually see soldiers running around unlike in Berlin most of the time. Lack of bombs or rockets just makes it much longer to level up.

yeah when theres a lot of buildings involved its quite harder for sure. And since i havent played Berlins maps yet idk what those involves cap wise contrary to accessibility to the air. But usually supporting where the troops are which is also important that they feed you intel to make it easier which usually never happens but when it does its so satisfying or just hammering around the objectives.

One epic moment i did was to strafe run the main street at Pokrovskoe City when we had the center radio to destroy and kept the plane in between the buildings all the way down from the start…It was a really foolish run cause tanks loves to sit there, but did it for the infantry just to cheer them up to get an cool moment and wished that someone recorded it so i could see how it looked down there ^^ Almost crashed in to an tree in the end but miraculously my wing got intact xD

Fighters are really bad for ground strafing. The moscow ones. The Berlin FW is actually good due to the 20mms and 30mms.

In moscow either use the best fighter the F1 or use the Stuka

Well ive actually fell in love with the F2 rn  That 15 mm strafe is so satisfying + its an beast in hunting planes with really good turn and speed. Just now i lit up an building filled with enemies and could see the kills racking up xD they didnt saw that one coming lol But i also had an wonderful team that constantly spotted so was on a good game

I like the F1 more. The 20mm is really powerfull. Any russian plane will burn from a short, close range burst.

The 4x 50kg bombs are really useful too, at taking out a few light tanks, or killing some infantry with accurate bombing.

The F2 for me has neither of these things. The 15mm lacks power, and there are no bombs.

Now i am just waiting to get the BF109 E3 or 4, since they have 2x 20mms MG151s. Whom are much better. Hopefully theyll have bombs too
