So I think everyone’s familiar with late joining
Essentially you join a ongoing match, now whether the match is working in your favor or against you, I think atleast the players should have an option to allow or prevent from joining said matches.
Now I will tell you why I hate late joining
- It’s unfair for the player
As you can see 2 of our objectives have been blowned and otw the enemies are already at the 2nd set of objectives, essentially they immediately took 4 of our objectives quickly, you can’t tell me that starting the game with already lost objectives is fair, in this case half of our objectives is taken isn’t really fair
Even if we managed to win, it’s still unfair for us, as the enemy is essentially one leg up away from victory and we had 0 chances to fail
- Low Exp turnout
Imagine if you had a juicy +300% booster, you load into the game and well… you even get less opportunities to earn scores because the match is almost half way done, even way worse if the mode is conquest
- It doesn’t suit the game’s pace
The game is fast pace, under 10 seconds a player can build a rally, lay mines, go to objective, build HMG, anticipate attacking enemies, and more. If a player joins per say 30 seconds late, then the player is at an immediate disadvantage
My suggestion to rework late joining is to introduce a setting to allow/prevent joining ongoing matches, just like in WT
Should there be any downsides from disabling to join ongoing battles? None
Should there be an incentive to turn on this setting? Maybe an exp boost like a +1.3x, but it’s not required
