On the map airfield the last (or first, depending on which nations attacking) point is nearly inaccessible by apcs or riders, there is only one crossing at the bottom of the circled area.
The barrage balloon hanger has this railway separating it from the rest of the map. This railway line is extremely annoying to cross.
The 2 solutions I have to this:
•reduce the incline to be better suited to APCS and riders.
Or the better solution
•improve driving characteristics of APCS and bikes. For example more grip for both, more engine power for the APC. A few other changes that don’t relate to this issue but do relate to APCS in general can be found in my older thread: Better APC driving characteristics , I didn’t mention I’d also like to see handbrakes to all vehicles as well
True, you know, there are alot of similar map issues - but I guess we are all too tired of talking about all those small details that can sometimes be nearly game breaking.
I always drive to the far side almost touching the grey zone, there’s an incline which is much easier to get pass through. But by the time I manage to cross those railroad tracks the point is already being capped. So that’s a compromise. The thing is we’ve gotten so used to these quirky details in the environment for so long that we’ve come up with ways to circumvent this, which otherwise shouldn’t be necessary. Many of the early maps suffer from this as they were definitely not thought out to be played with half-track vehicles, or any vehicle with low clearance but now it’s very noticeable. My main issue is with this exact same part of the map you pointed out, which also happens in the train tracks in Saint Lo, Power Plant, and most recently in Mountain Pass Ardennes map. There’s an specific part in which the APC/tank spawn is right on the train tracks.
The problem is that the problems with rails and terrain only appeared after a certain vehicle (optimization) update this year.
Before this update you could easily send a tracked truck through anywhere
