Am I the only one thinking the game engine is asking for huge vehicule maps?
With tanks, air support, and infantry in villages, old factories and forests!
What do you think of this? I’ve read somewhere that the devs didn’t want large maps and that it didn’t fit they vision for the game, that would be sad.
Just look at the practice map and see the potential for big vehicule maps:
That would be amazing. This game is the first thing to come close to battlefield 1942 in terms of scale and intensity. The one thing it’s missing is larger maps 5v5+ vehicles. Having a 1v1 dogfight is pretty tame when you consider you could have 3v3+ dogfights there. Everyone has access to the vehicles so why not make the odd vehicle-centric map. Maybe just have an option to deselect it in the full game? Not like the engineers don’t already have at guns.
The thing with larger maps is it gives time for engineers to setup proper defenses rather than rushing it on while being shot at. Sure in rl you wouldn’t always have the time but if you are defending a point you’d be sure some sandbags/wire would already be setup. Larger maps in general would be great.
If the AI could be improved enough to follow in another jeep and pop out / fight when enemy is there it would work with squads too. You’d need to have a holdfire order though so they’d keep following you until you say.
if you look carefully from an airplane the entire game area is united not separate are the battles that separate it into several parts, maybe in the future it will be possible to access a campaign mode with multiple objectives with 50 players per faction so as to cover the whole 'area
Something of that size would be astounding. The devs would be missing a diamond if they didn’t consider this. If done right it would make this game timeless and people would play it 10 years from now for sure.
Yes, I actually played BF1942 in 2002 and this was my first multiplayer fps. I still think it is was a master piece in terms of gameplay, at the time.
Enlisted has all the potential for a large scale warfare. When I was playing IL 2 STURMOVIK, I was impressed by the damage physics on planes and how the dogfights were so intense and realistic. Seeing that Enlisted is inheriting the War Thunder damage physics which seems also based on IL2 engine is good news. The tank damage physics also is inherited from War Thunder which makes tank vs tank quite intense and very satisfying to play!
I mean, all the vehicules physics, and damage models are extremely well made in enlisted (props to the devs and their hard work), but I believe the small maps that we have today are holding them back.
Having big vehicules maps would probably also, on a business side, make people want to buy and upgrade their vehicules more to enjoy the fights more.
Of course, big vehicule maps would be added as an extra, not replacing smaller maps we already have today (which a enjoyable too in a different way)
Post scriptum/hell let losse are more a modified version of red orchestra than a new game, are more concentred on graund forces but this not exclude in near future even their add the air force
bf5 is a joke bf1 is the king
With the smaller maps it makes it more intense. But that also leads to continuous rushing. With the building system this game has it would be a big loss to keep all the maps so small. There simply isn’t enough time from the start of the game to setup effective defenses when defending unless you sacrifice the first point. Bigger maps solve that.
As far as vehicles, the way this game does spawning and uses the crew so there isn’t anyone jumping around at the spawn doing nothing is mint. The playable area on the maps is already quite large so it is definitely doable. I’d love to see 4-5 tanks flanking only to run into a minefield and an at gun. This game has practically everything you’d need for it already in the game, so why not!?
In fact, they said that there might be such maps, and not exactly that they don’t want to make them and we already have, like a minium, 4 large maps, if not 5
Yeah. With updates you can also discover new areas which has been added.
Maybe once the game is released and the campaigns got a lot updates, maybe there is a possibility for a larger battle with multiple invasions at once like, two invasions from front and back are happening while defenders needs to defend and recieve a lot more tokens.
But before that, the damage model needs some refinement. Weapon handling got a lot better especially sniper but let’s see.
I (IIIII) really love maps with space. You don’t have one narrow road and a little left and right.
You can really eradicate your enemy if you have flanks. You can attack like a Zange (pliers)…?
Vehicles can show what they were buld for. Infantry can show what they are capable of. I love it (in game)…
It’s a good idea. More realistic.
Seems like today the kids just want to be shot right away. 10 qm shoot outs with no cover, no sense. Just a little shooting with no thought or effort. Give them skins, lootboxes and teabagging without ANY
historical thought. Let all games be the basic single same sh!t.
NO!
There is really potential to Enlisted. I love Enlisted and spent earned (through work) money for it
to develop even more.
OR do a “realistic / big map thing” and a “kids / just shoot” kind of mode. Because we have
diversity in players and their liking.
In Berlin house to house, road to road fights are okay, realistic, historical… til now.
By the way. Please bring us in Berlin campaign SEELOW HIGHTS (Seelower Höhen) because
that was the last really huge fight just leading to Berlin. With kilometers of spotting oppertunity and
really heavy infantry and tank fight. Many people would like it, I am sure of it.
a air battle, will be interesting, i remenber to have a battlefield 1942 air battle don,t remenber the name that you got to bomb a weapows factory, then you got anti air in the side of how is defending the factory.
it will be awesome if we got parachute infantry in this map. still alot of other things to do before we get something like that. some things is actualy more basic, rembering the basic is the basic, and basic is the most important thing in life so get it friest.
