That made my day I killed a Tiger 1 by disabling its gun and tracking it and the crew scuttled it. Any one else got moments like that?

Yeah, that’s basically the only way how to frontally kill tigers and panthwrs with only 75mm shermans.

Look man I’m not bragging but I got 2 tiger 2 kill with calliope (3 if we count the server test too) but I only got it cause he was distracted but it does feel good and amazing ngl (will probably post the picture when I’m back home)

You can kill Tigers without even torturing it there are spot in between tracks and skirts that let you target ammo racks. Ofc that’s only when fighting against Tiger E.

Either The 75MM is Nerfed or the Sherman Armor Is WAAAAAAY Buffed.
You have probably encountered Jumbo, not classic shermans.
Jumbos do have only 75mm gun.

Yes, the Jumbo, from what I understand had that Short Derp Gun that shot a very good HE round.
But the Armor on the Jumbo is that much Better?
I Don’t think so. American did not have a single tank that could take a shot from a 75mm in the front and survive till the Pershing (and even that was susceptible in some spots although overall much better armor than any Sherman)
No, the Sherman that has a good HE is the one with the 105mm gun.
Jumbo has classic 75mm gun but it has way better armor.
It is named specifically M4A3E2 Jumbo.
It has premium variant with APCR ammo and sand bags. And then classic tech tree variant without any sandbags nor APCR ammo.
Panther should be able to easily kill any other Shermans. But if Jumbo is slightly angled, Panther will struggle to pen it.

The only reliable way how to oneshot Jumbo frontally is through its hull MG port, that’s basically guaranteed kill.

For real though, Sherman Jumbo. It’s a thing.
Also, any german-only mains who want to bitch about the jumbo at this point can STFU. Jumbo was an issue when it was the first OP broken tank introduced. After that, DF added Panther, which IRL is over-egineered, good-on-paper dogshit, tiger, king tiger. Heavy tanks of all types and nations had no place in an infantry game limited to ten real humans per side.
Sherman 76 is fine. Panzer 4 j/h, fine. T-34 of all types, fine.
Remove Jumbo, Panther, Tiger 1/2, Kv1, IS 1/2. If it can’t reliably be killed with all of the handheld AT weapons in the game, it doesn’t belong. This isn’t fucking war thunder and shouldn’t be.
Just watch Kelly’s Heroes, you can kill Tigers all day.

Yeah, ask anybody who was there (I have several Uncles who were there) and they all said the same thing. It took 5 Shermans to kill a Panther but it took 10 Shermans to Kill a Tiger.
Micheal Wittman was Bombed to death otherwise he would still be whacking out paper skinned Shermans on the western front…
500 Meters and 174 mm Pen if the armor was sloped 30 degs. The Jumbo was maybe 175 yards from me. I don’t care how many sandbags were on the front. This gun should have penned.
