So, I often play Enlisted with my dad. He’s getting on a bit and, after several years, still finds the interface and upgrade trees pretty overwhelming. So, every so often, I have to log in to his account from my PC to sort out his troop upgrades for him.
However, I’ve noticed that whenever I do this, all of his keybinds and control settings completely overwrite the keybinds and settings on my own account (despite me not even being logged into my account at the time and despite using my own PC). Essentially, after every time I do his upgrades, I have to change ALL of my own settings back to what they should be once I log in.
I’d have thought keybinds were account-linked, not device-linked? Is this some sort of bug, or is there another way around this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this takes forever each time!

Damn, really? One would think settings would/should be device specific!
Sorry I can’t help, I wasn’t even aware that this could happen a minute ago.
Maybe you could find the personal-settings file and copy it when it has the changes you want and save it somewhere else, then whenever you’re done sorting out your dads stuff you can just exit the game and paste-overwrite with your backup file?
I don’t know much about the file structure of this game, but this would be my best bet!

I know in war thunder you can save/extract keybinds into blk file but unfortunately cant in Enlisted
The keyboard config file is hidden away in: AppData\Local\enlisted\downloads\online_storage{prodile_id}\enlisted\jupiter\controls.json
But I don’t know how it works. You could try setting your controls, then copying the above file somewhere, then change them back for your dad, make a copy of his, then try testing to see if replacing the file does anything.

Thanks for the suggestions and speedy responses. Will give that a test/try and report back.
Have reported this to Gaijin/Darkflow with screen capture, as it may well be a bug. Noticed that there’s a correlation with which account you initially log in with after booting up Windows. For instance, if I log into my dad’s account on my PC (after rebooting Windows), my preferred keybinds/settings all instantly overwrite his existing settings automatically; so he’s then stuck with my settings on his account. He then has to manually change them back every time he plays.
Hopefully it gets resolved. If it does, I’ll post the solution here, especially if it’s a workaround. I’d guess a bunch of people are experiencing this, instead attributing this to other factors like buggy updates.
i would try:
- try restarting gaijin launcher when switching accounts. this may be problem with gaijin launcher using config from other account. restarting it may resolve isssue
- make config files read only for both accounts (AppData\Local\enlisted\downloads\online_storage{prodile_id}\enlisted\jupiter\controls.json)
just take notice that you wont be able to change any controls before removing read only from that file.
Cheers for the suggestions. Unfortunately, support told me that account sharing is forbidden, and this technically counts as account sharing (even if not playing any matches off my dad’s account), so I won’t even be able to do anything moving forward.
Will instead just have to make complaints about how cluttered/unintuitive the UI still is, as without that, this practice wouldn’t have even been necessary. My dad isn’t a dummy, and the whole interface is pretty overwhelming for beginners. Especially the three different upgrade tabs, the whole ‘enlistment’ system, as well as the multiple ‘tiers’ of each soldier type. It should be explained much more clearly at the beginning of the game and visually displayed better in the menus. I think techies like myself often take our understanding of these systems for granted, after years of playing similar games.
Really? With two separate accounts on one PC? Seems excessive, but then Support know better than I about this stuff.
Did the copy/pasting the JSON file not work either?
