Keep the squad tight

I am wondering how I can keep my squad members from not all getting killed within the first minute I get them? Is there a way to make them stay with you…I get killed and then the entire squad goes within 10 seconds or so…Very frustrating to lose a whole squad when 1 member gets killed

The best advice I can give you is to extensively use move order.

If you want to go somewhere, order your squad to go there and then run there yourself. As you will be faster than your squad, look around for enemies. When AI gets to destination, repeat.

It’s slow and doesn’t fit the gameplay at all. Have fun.

Just spam individual soldier command around all day.

I use the X, I run up to some point and I hit X, then they’ll hold and defend that point, basically what I try to do is always be far ahead of them, that way if I get killed because I’ve run into trouble they will hopefully still be alive, because when I hit the X I try to have it be in some sort of cover behind a wall, or an Entrenchment, inside of a building, the problem of course is that the AI is really freaking stupid, so invariably one or two of them might try to peek their head around the corner and get them self shot, they’re not very good about trying to stay in cover, and there are not very good about defending themselves, so you have to treat them like they’re idiots because they are.

I intentionally keep my squad sizes as small as possible, because mostly they’re just gonna get killed anyway and it’s gonna mess up your kill death ratio, you’re just giving the enemy free kills if you have a large squad.

This is what you will want to do. I use this method since it seems to update their pathing enough that it corrects them clumping or getting stuck.

I don’t think it takes that long tho, at least once you get practiced at managing the soldiers and where to put them on various maps.

Its a good skill to practice, because once they update the AI over time, having the skill to manage individual soldiers will be a huge advantage.

How do you tell the squad to go somewhere? Don’t you have to be there first then pressX( on PC)

you have around 20 meters of space to do so, but if you get like 30 or 40 meters away they will disregard the orders.

my advice is just to keep them behind you on a position. ex behind the point, then disregard what ever the fk they do

THanks…
