Kamikaze system gives me penalty when shot down by enemy?!?!?

I thought this was the plan: crash without damage → penalty

But what I (also) get is this:

  • My plane gets shot badly. I have no more control of the plane and crash and die → PENALTY
  • My plane gets shot mildly. I still have some control, I dont crash, but I cant attack with this plane anymore. I suicide the pilot → PENALTY

Not cool man.

Officials believe that as long as you are not shot down directly, it is a suicide attack.

I get shot by an enemy plane or AA, plane on fire, plane uncontrollable, plane in pieces, crashing into the ground killing the pilot, that sounds pretty directly to me :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Ther Must be something more to it, something specific :thinking:. Ive spiraled down slowly from aa guns and planes without invoking kamakazi.

Yeah for sure…but what.
The other day, a regular dogfight, enemy plane gets behind me, shoots me down, my pilot dies with the plane on impact with the ground, I cant spawn another plane due to this crash…
This was not even close to kamikaze.
Suiciding the pilot in a shot up plane gives a penalty.
Going down with the shot up plane also gives penalty.
Nothing I can do to ‘not kamikaze’…

I have a feeling the system does something weird to determine if your plane is “controllable” or something
I too ended up punished even though I was shot up before crashing… although the one time I remember it I was fully going to kamikaze… ironically because of the stupid system and how overcooked the AA is nowadays - I knew that I had to kill that fucking KT in the first pass cause I’m dead anyway. Got blown to bits before I hit the ground but it still locked me out
