Kamikaze more effective and Vehicle cooldown

Kamikaze could be made more effective with an explosion since planes carries fuel. I know this will cause some people to spam Kamikaze move such as those with only planes in their extra squad slots hence this is where the Vehicle cooldown along, like Artillery there should be a cooldown for using a vehicle after losing one of perhaps 3-5 minutes, this will also stop vehicle spammers from crashing their planes then using another one.

No.

No reason to turn fighter planes into bombs. You want to take a tank out? Find another way. There’s plenty already.

Kamikaze is not a practice that was widely used in WW2. In addition in regard to game balance. Adding in a Kamikaze feature is counterproductive. Aircraft are in the game to provide support from the air, not be one giant bomb. Considering the fact they put in steps to reward players for successfully landing the planes, giving players the ability to Kamikaze goes directly against those actions.

Plane squads already have cooldowns. They cycle through after 2 other squad deaths, like other squads. However, if you manage to successfully land the plane like I just mentioned, it cycles through after 1 squad death rather than 2. This rewards the pilots that are actually decent enough to know how to land (in comparison to those that just kamikaze). This puts more focus on staying alive and making passes rather than dying and wasting resources.

If you still think there is an issue regarding the length of time on the respawns, perhaps look into fixing the problem of players burning other squads (either running in or dying or using “kill soldier” option) to get back to certain ones.

i mean you can already do that since some attack angles can cause the propeller to go inside of the tank and kill it that way

If that’s true, then more the reason not to accept the op’s demand. He just wants even more kamikaze crash…

(I didn’t know fighters could already do so)

Maybe could be a features for Japanese. I mean that was pretty much their thing, crashing a plane to do maximum damage. Maybe explosion could kill but no point (like killed by out of area) and with a cooldown. And another thing i was thinking about : plane carcass should not remain on battlefield like tank ? I think that would be cool using plane wreckage for cover with infantry

Kamikazes wouldn’t strike ground targets like tanks and infantry, they exclusively targeted ships. Kamikazes were seen as a valuable resource to the Japanese war effort and it would be considered a waste of resources to kamikaze infantry. This doesn’t make sense to me to add from a gameplay or historical perspective.

It is a false understanding that the Japanese frequently engage in suicide attacks. They began to use such tactics at the end of the Pacific War, when the Japanese military plan had completely collapsed and victory was no longer possible.

It is very costly to train pilots and build aircraft in Japan, a country with few resources and a small population. To destroy one ship at the expense of dozens of aircraft is a clear strategic failure.
After 1944, the Japan realized that victory was hopeless, but domestic politics at the time made it impossible to admit defeat. None of the generals wanted to be the first to say, “We have lost,” so they tried to make up tactical achievements even though they knew they were strategic errors. That is what kamikaze is all about.

The Pacific maps in this game are all early in the war. If you must add such madness to the game, you should add maps from later in the war, such as Okinawa and Iwo Jima. As time goes on, the equipment of the Marines and the Japanese Army has changed considerably, so if we are going to follow the conventions of this game, it should be a new campaign, like the Berlin Campaign.
Exsample,The US Marines would get Shermans equipped with flamethrowers, and Japan uses hunting rifles requisitioned from the private sector and countless caves and underground tunnels.

(My personal opinion is against splitting up the campaign any further and adding more unlocking hell, though.)

Suicide tactics are skillless, annoying and shouldn’t be encouraged.
The end.

To be fair, most equipment are late war (proto/ stuff that never left the main isles) and most squads didnt fight in mid-war.

Now imagine people keep shooting down planes to a point where the map is hardly passable as inf, let alone tanks.

Yea, there are, for those not hiding behind the grey zones. The idea was a last effort attack when your plane took too much damage and cant fly anymore.

For normal players true but for those with extra slots they can bring multiple fighters and bombers and keep cycling through planes the whole match.

am only pointing it out as logical outcome when you crash with a full tank of fuel in your plane and only as a last effort when your plane takes too much damage and cant fly anymore. Lets not forget that people tend to hide behind the grey zones and camp.

Yes, I understand that this game is throwing away historical importance for the sake of fun. But it does ensure a certain amount of reality.

Fun is matter of debate.

Bail out, use that parachute and fight on the ground. That’s a good last resort attack.

There’s more than enough plane crashers already.

when you are on higher altitude or above water surface true, but when you are nearly kissing the ground even if you bail you will just face plant the ground, also for some reason you cannot deploy your parachute at a certain height from ground level.

Even so.

The fuel in planes isn’t a good tank buster. At the very limit it could act as a… molotov. Nothing more.

This ain’t Hollywood where cars with a bit of fuels explode with high special effects.

Also what can explode with gasoline isn’t the liquid itself, but the fumes of it. (Which is why when you flood you car engine it stops working) the fuel itself will merely burn.

If you’re that close to the ground already having suffered critical damage, I doubt you can steer your plane correctly at a tank. If you can, it means you have time to bail out.

So yeah. In short, I’m against your suggestion as it doesn’t make much sense :person_shrugging:

never said it was the best idea.
