So once apon a time back when I first started playing enlisted the double barrel shotgun the Toz was actually pretty good. However now the toz as well as the drilling are just…useless.
So my suggestion is just revert back too when the double barrel shotguns were good back before the original shotgun nerf. Also add zoom to them as well.
I appreciate that an effort was made to buff them again to make them more effective but to be honest it wasn’t a very effective buff as they are still pretty ineffective.
Please developers make them good as you should be able to down someone at reasonable ranges with these things as currently you cant due to them just feeling like pea shooters.
Absolutely agree here but for all shotguns. Currently shotguns are firing 18 pellets, which assuming they are all 12 gauge makes the shells roughly #2 or #3 buckshot which is between 6.35 and 6.86mm per pellet respectively. Shotguns fire around 1100-1300 fps (335-396 mps). Let’s give the benefit of the doubt and assume #2 shot and 396m/s for the rest of these calculations.
#2 lead buck is 6.86mm in diameter, grain weight of 4.79gr. At 396mps, that single pellet is carrying 18ft lbs (24J) of energy, *18 and that is 324ft lbs (432J) which is less energy than a light birdshot load which itself packs 1640ft lbs (2224J) of energy, which is used to kill birds, not people.
Now let’s look at a standard #00 buckshot load which was the standard load for US troops from WW1 to current day, of which I even carried as a breacher in the infantry.
#00 Buckshot is 8mm and typically holds 9 pellets in the shell. 8mm at 53.24gr traveling at 1300fps (396mps) packs 200ft lbs (271J) per pellet, *9 is 1800ft lbs (2440J) per shot.
I think I agreed decently well with you along with the fact that the luftwaffe drilling should be able to fire its center gun which is not a shotgun I don’t remember what caliber it is at the moment but there is a reason why that thing has three barrels lol
