i’ll start by saying thanks to @Shiivex for the upload
i would like to state, that perhaps this is just my personal issue, but i don’t know.
now, i’m not here to trash talk someone else job.
but, i think there are several mistakes when it comes to voice acting for the italians in this game.
bare with me for a moment.
unlike the german, americans and i think russian one as well, voice acting is somewhat ok, especially after the last voice lines update brought for the new war cries of few updates ago,
the italian ones seems to have several issues on the other hand:
-
1st, all voices sounds like it’s coming out from the same guy. weather the other faction, has distinct sounds and they do not sounds like each other.
now, it is truee that i haven’t heard yet the squad made out of 9 soldiers to hear all voice actors.
but it becomes a frequent issues since the main, second, third and fourth soldiers are the one that plays a major " role " in the game while going for “”““an adventure””". -
2nd, as somewhat of a italian ( technically, i’m more italian so, yeah, i can consider my self italian as i still live in italy ) they sounds like very high. some sort of high pitched. now, why did i mentioned that i’m in italian? back in 2005 during my golden age of university, i decided to cover world war 2 and in particular, i had chances to met a few veterans from the 131st Armoured Division Centauro . now, it doesn’t matter that much details, but the point i’m trying to make.
low morale was a thing due to many reasons. and i don’t blain anyone for not depicting it right. but none was actually happy to go in war and sounds " high " in the first place, they took war quite seriously and always tried to be professional about it.
an example that i really somewhat " enjoyed playing with " was battlefield 1 voice lines:
or:
or even: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVlWjX5ym6E
you can somewhat tell their struggle. there’s actual enphasis in those voice and they do not use only one tone. at the end of they day, you don’t get " bored " of listening while playing.
unfortunately, i’m afraid i cannot say the same in enlisted.
3. " wrong " answers from AI
one thing that buggered me for the most, is that for the majority of your soldiers, some of them will say " Ci penso io " which translated to english, it means " i’ll handle it " / " i got it "
but it doesn’t make much sense since the soldiers uses this answer with the follow orders, or stand orders. normally, it’s not something that you would/should say in that scenario.
And last but not least,
4. lacks of accent.
now, it is a nickpicking subject here, and i can somewhat understand it.
but pretty much like any country, there are dialect in various regions/districts.
the point is, despite being elements of south italy, and north italy, they all sounds like/have a firenze’s accent. which it’s roughly in the middle of italy.
but i don’t know… i guess it’s just me.
any other italeon friend that thinks the same? or i’m crazy
