"Join Any Army" should prioritize +-1 BR MM

If I am ready to trust my faith and faction selection to RNG, the last thing I want is to participate in a BR 3-5 clownfest with my M1 Garand against fantasy land of AutoHei and HoRi.

I don’t care which faction or ±1 up/down tier I get to play, I just don’t want to play with/against T20/AutoHei/AS-44 when I’m BR3.

Too bad they couldn’t make +/-1 a permanent feature tbh might actually bring in more player in the long run smh

I’m of the opinion that BR5 should only queue BR5. Br3 could go up and down one and BR4 only stays at BR4 or also goes down one

I think br 1-2, BR 3-4 and BR 5. Those are the biggest power leaps, BR1-2 cannot deal with br3 and br3 cannot deal with br5.

Well before DF do any drastic changes like changing the MM rules, would be at least nice to have this with “join any” for starters.

Feels bad to give up faction selection privileges, just to be shafted by a T20s stack.

Agreed. Specially since most of the iconic weapons of each faction are in BR 3-4 (M1 Garand, Type 96lmg, SVT-40 etc) and when you get to BR 5 there are too many weapons that were produced in minimal numbers being deployed to full squads.

I have no issue facing BR V Germany with BR IV America except for the tanks… it’s basically impossible to fight a King Tiger in an M10 or a Jumbo. Other than that though, the actual infantry combat isn’t too bad.

kinda sidetracked, but use planes. Only top tier can fight top tier, and when they know how to angle and use cover it’s not possible to fight heavy tanks without one of your own. US coincidentally has some of the best CAS with the best rockets for this.

Yeah BR5 is like Modern soldier fighting vs tribes that only use spears and bows. They need to be separated from other BRs.

I don’t have a problem with the current BR 3 system. Just my opinion

Well I do with it being able to face br5 if it br4 only then I could manage

I don’t mind playing BR3 vs BR5 per se in terms of “balance”.

I just hate BR5’s abundance of fake weapons like AutoHei, AS-44 or T20 and I just want to not be sent there against my will when I use a single Garand or PPSh-41 box.

I love how so many people have misinterpreted this post so badly. This is not a suggestion about balancing MM’s brackets.

It’s just a classic rant about prototypes created by Veekay.

Keep it civil

I understand the desire for historical immersion, but I will say everyone draws their line differently and in fact my own standards have evolved over time

I don’t mind all the prototypes and rare stuff, my personal rule is that my loadout is chronologically correct for the given battle. Now at the moment for the longest time I just go by year even if sometimes it doesn’t exactly make sense, the Jumbo saw service in 1944 but after the Normandy campaign but hey it’s still 1944 so no biggie.

As a side note I have thought about taking it a step further and going by date, so if a battle was between X and Y, but for the foreseeable future for now I keep it simple by year.

Anyway I can’t change that because of the game’s current system you will have crazy stuff in periods where they don’t belong, and even I don’t have a problem with the crazy stuff in the first place just chronological order like King Tigers in Stalingrad because BR 5; but I accept it for what it is. Like I said at best I can have my own little personal immersion with my loadouts

It’s like in Battlefield I always use faction specific weapons while the teams are all random chaos

Also I don’t care if the enemy is the most uber advanced. I don’t care whether they’re calling King Tigers or Maus. I fight the battle the same as it ever was. Nothing discourages me so much so that it isn’t even in my vocabulary to suggest I’d be discouraged by the enemy, because I just play no matter what. Doesn’t even cross my mind

I know to each their own.

I just want to play BR3 with mostly iconic stuff (T-34, KV, Garand, SVT, BAR etc.) and not be forced to BR5’s absurdity, that’s all.

When the game can make everyone happy instead of forcing, that’s good game design.
