Japanese propeller + magazine 1911 = chonk 1911

A curious gun that could be added for a mini event to give something new

In Dec. 1943 a Japanese Type 97 Ki-21 Bomber was shot down over Henyang, China and an enterprising US Soldier/madman named William Harris descended upon its remains to create the ultimate bringback souvenir.
The pistol is mostly made from the planes propeller. Maybe the barrel and other internals are steel that would withstand the forces of shooting. It has a M1911 magazine inserted, so it should be cal .45ACP (?) and the bolt is held open on an empty chamber. The display at the U.S.S. Kidd Museum doesn’t elaborate on its function, but I don’t see why it would not work

yeah chrome

From what this looks like each time the weapons fired the slide locks, see you have to rechamber after every round. Think of this as a magazine loaded liberator. It would be hard to tell without seeing the weapon in person. Very interesting but I doubt it had good functionality.
