In the Japanese tank Ha-Go, you are unable to control the machine gunner and gunner at the same time. This is likely because there is no commander in the vehicle from what I am guessing.
But does anyone know if the machine gunner is able to fire on its own, even if you’re using the gunner view?
No. Tank crews do not act independently of you
Nope - even in teh larger Japanese tanks you can’t do it - very annoying.

No it can’t. You shoot the machineguns yourself. However you CAN shoot with the turret MGs even if there is no one in them.
There is a strong argument for the ha go being the worst tank in the game at the moment. Paper Armour, separate and limited vision machine gunner with only 20 rounds. Cannon has 0 anti infantry capability and it is so weak I couldn’t pen a universal carrier directly from the front
