Japan Update Planes

With the latest changes made to the game, Japan is currently in the following situation in terms of aircraft: There is NO fighter for BR 3 that is not premium or event-based, there is no attack aircraft in BR 4, nor is there anything good in BR 5, at most we can make the Kikka become an attack aircraft and its brother, the Karyu, as fighter, so I ask you Enlisted and War Thunder players, what are you ideas who we could bring for br 3 and 4 for japan?

For BR3 fighters, the best and easiest solution in my mind would be to move the Ki-61 down and potentially replace the 100kg bombs for 250kg bombs (to match the payload of the P51 D) since it’s about on par with the P51 D (and the J2M3 can be lowered to 4 to fill the hole that will be made). But if we wanted to add something new that isn’t yet in Enlisted, we could maybe get the A6M5 Otsu or Hei, upgraded versions of the A6M2 Zero. The 2 variants of this plane are fairly similar, the Otsu is armed with two 20mms, one 13.2mms, and one 7.7mm and turns and climbs a bit faster, and the Hei version has two 20mms but three 13.2mm in exchange for a slightly longer turn speed and climb speed. Both could hold a 250kg bomb centrally, as well as 60kg bombs on the wings, so I think for bombload it would probably be the single 250kg, or the 250 and both wing mounted 60kgs, similar to the IAR 81C’s bombload.

As for the BR 4 attacker, the B7A2 could be a potential candidate, it’s really just a buffed D4Y1, 40 kph faster, 20mm cannons instead of 7.7mms, and a 13mm machine gun used by the rear gunner. This plane has 2 bomb loadouts in WT that could be good here in Enlisted, one 800kg bomb (that we see on the Kikka) or ten 60kg bomb, which could make it good for carpet bombing.

Ive wanted this one for a while.

Before I start Japan Grind I am adamant they need these two added first…

BR 3

Viable loadouts that could be used at BR 3 (I would prefer the rockets)

OR this one could also be BR 4/5 lol

BR 2

These two Will at least sort out Japan Up until BR 3 (for me)

Those rockets are quite weak actually, they only have 760 grams TNT equivalent each, while M8s have 2 kilograms, since they were made for air to air use. Unfortunately, most planes that can equip these rockets would be BR3 or higher likely, meaning these would be redundant over other possible payload choices. (to be fair though, I’ve never used them in WT so I have no idea if they’re any good)

the Ki-45 Hei does look fun though, I hope to see it at some point, it looks like it would be great against bomber raids, air spawn and the 37mm having only HEFI-T, which also might be good against infantry. I’ll take any variant of the Ki-45 and be happy.

you are right. I checked the wrong rocket :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont know how it works for rockets…but 760 Grams of TNT is not much different than a 75mm HE round from a tank so…you would think it would be effective in Enlisted
:man_shrugging:

RBS- 82 rockets (x8 at BR 1 and 2) have half that, and although casuals will tell you those rockets are shit…they really aren’t. They have the benefit of being really effective when used well, but not enough to draw attention to people thinking its OP…which is funny because they are reeeeally good… :smirk:

so you could make a case for the A6M5 Hei with 10 Rockets being BR 3, I know I would find it fun. Possible fall under the radar like RBS-82 rockets?.. I just sort of doubt it

Ah, you’re right, it might be quite good then, if the RSBs have 480 grams in comparison. I do have quite a bit of fun with those on low BR, so something a bit stronger would probably be pretty decent.
