Type 100 Paratrooper SMG > Used by medics Type 1 SMG > Used by a “paratrooper squad” that is actually assaulters Type Hei LMG (with a giant unwieldy shield attached!!!) > only Japanese premium gun actually used by paratroopers
I’ll be frank - what the fuck is DF doing with this? Why is a smg with a folding stock designed specifically for paratroopers not used by paratroopers and instead medics? Why is a short smg with a mag in the grip for the sake of compactness - used by a literal historical paratrooper squad - not used by paratroopers? But the LMG with a giant, ridiculous bulky shield is used by paratroopers?
I don’t have strong feelings about historical accuracy or realism, but this is just ridiculous. Please re-evaluate this and consider having paratrooper weapons be used by paratroopers, and paratrooper squads actually be paratroopers. You all have shown you are willing to add low br paratroopers - maybe make the literal paratrooper squads be paratroopers.
both of those squads were sold before the paratrooper class was a thing, and darkflow does not want to modify premium squads at all out of fear of upsetting the people who already bought them
Best they can do is create a new paratrooper squad and give them the guns you mentioned
I don’t think anyone would mind that lol. I think that’s a pretty silly policy to have, or at least give the option to change it to paratroopers or not.
Japan had a lot less guns than other factions so I think they should make the premium squads associated with the guns not fake paratroopers.
Nobody seems to be complaining about the Stalingrad pass being gone, we seem to have too submissive of a community. Plus it should just been changed with the update. Just go “hey guys, we are releasing a new class with new squads in the shop, and for those of you who bought these squads, we are changing them to the new class to give you a try.”
I don’t actually have paratroopers but can they spawn on the ground in addition to parachuting in?
What I’m thinking is maybe let them do something like what APC squads can do - parachute in normally with the extra weapons they can grab, OR spawn in on the ground at a spawn point/rally and have no extra weapons. Even if somewhat against the point of paratroopers it would let previous owners of the squad be able to use it without parachuting down.
There is literally no reason to change the existing squads, all you do is set a dangerous precedent of modifying the core features of squads people already spend money on.
They could just re-release these squads with more appropriate weapons, simple.
Thinking making an assaulter squad paratroopers is a “dangerous precedent” is just stupid, being too scared to update existing stuff will prevent the game from being improved
If I buy a medic squad I want to own a medic squad, etc etc etc. Japan is not the only nation with this inconsistency, there are plenty of examples in Germany and USA.
If they re-release the squads they avoid all the potential frustration and people with the old squads get exclusive old squads. Its a win/win/win.
That’s fair, but I don’t think them re releasing existing premium weapon squads would be likely since it would come across as a pretty desperate cash grab.

I think Paratroopers should have weapons specifically used by Paratroopers. It goes without saying.
I definitely want a Japanese and American Paratrooper squad with their respective Type 100/ M55 Reising paratrooper smg. They may not change them but they could certainly add them as a new actual Paratrooper squad
They could’ve made a LMG Paratrooper squad with the Type 99 Para LMG but gave them the Hei instead. I don’t know if they’d ever change it but they could make a new squad

I’d like the legacy squads and stuff back, I’d like the campaigns back. I feel the game has gone dowhill, but I’m willing to support it if it will fix itself and make it worth playing, if not I might as well go play Hell Let Loose cuz Enlisted isn’t scratching that WW2 immersion itch despite how much I like the gameplay.
They could simply add 5 Paratroopers to the Premium Squad’s reserve and change the possible configurations to either choose 5/5 medics or 5/5 Paratroopers?
In my opinion it’s too limited anyways that Premium Squads consists of only the same soldier type (except the Engineer you get with most squads).
In my opinion, Premium Squads should have a “main core” of the class they are designed for, e.g. Machine gunners, which come with the gun of the Premium Squad. And some slots should be open to be filled up by the player to his liking with a variety of additionnaly provided soldiers of other classes, tied to that Squad.
