I can’t remember whether it’s called Gavutu South, but the one where you have to cross over two bits of water to capture the points during assault, conquest and confrontation is pure hell for whoever’s attacking.
The water is too deep, the whole map is too unprotected meaning snipers can pick you off as soon as you spawn, and the defending side spawns too close by default, meaning whoever holds the left side basically wins (because you can’t add a spawn on the right side without them finding it, meaning you still need to cross water).
Either dark flow needs to:
-redesign the map (make water shallower or change where we can add rallies so they’re a bit more protected)
-change the way AI react so that whenever I shoot at something they shoot with me, and whenever I dive underwater they dive too (on second thought this probably isn’t optional)
-If they can’t do anything, delete the map (if you play as USA it’s basically a 100% chance of losing)

I agree.
Gavutu is first on my list, followed by Airfield.For infantry these type of maps are just not fun. They’re so restrictive in maneuvers and plays in the benefit of campers on further islands.
My suggestion is give more troop transports for both teams, but that are actually armored, instead of the flimsy speed boats.

It would be nice if we could use the generated LVTs. (the unarmed ones).
Or add an amphibious APC squad with a DUKW.
A further option is add bridges as a construction, with a choice between small pontoon bridges for infantry and Bailey bridges for vehicles.
Allow generated bridges to be blown up.
This would make the game more interesting by allowing players to ford rivers and island hop, defend crossings and flank the enemy by building wisely.
I would like to say that the devs do a great job asthetically on a lot of maps, especially newer ones.
However, this is an FPS not art class. First and foremost should be gameplay.
I cannot agree more that airfield is just not fun to play. Theres so many issues for both attackers and defenders imo.
I wish theyd delete Airfield, Swamps, Steel Mill and Power Plant. Oh and number 1 priority for cancellation: Reverse D Day.
Hell Id get rid of almost all the Normandy maps cause they just suck.
Recently I got to try some of the Berlin maps of the German countryside and I quite enjoyed them. They are aesthetically pleasing but also interesting gameplay wise.

Gavutu is the one map no matter it’s orientation, I loathe pretty much every single time I play it. I don’t feel great when I stompbthe attackers and I don’t feel great being stomped, because a large part of it is intrinsic to the map’s design. It plays out far too linear and the sightlines are a grey zone HE spamming tank’s wet dream.
The AI seems utterly clueless with their path finding throughout the length of the map, usually deviating to a single or two paths due to the water.

The AI seriously needs a remodel because their water-crossing abilities are absolutely dreadful. It’s arguably the worst issue in Enlisted as of right now (people complaining about balance are 80% of the time are just them problems and not an actual issue).
