There are WAY more realistic options, and not even that hard to add:
Type 4 9cm:
literally copy paste model, animations but resized:

Literally copy paste Type 97, but with animations of the Grb-39 from germany already in the game

Those can be created almost only by copy paste - Everything already ingame,
Also, as we know, the update will probably get delayed again, so at least this is a thing worth waiting for.

The thing that they are giving them ofenrohr that bothers me , the fact is community painstakingly found interesting options which could fill the role (like type 97 with grenade launcher which is a 20 CM grenade would probably pen more than 200mm ) but we still get ofenrohr , I don’t understand there was domestic options and they were as you said very easy to implant but nah check these shiny ofenrohr

BR5 requires high Projectile speed and high penetration.
There is no point in lacking either.
Because Ofenrohr can easily destroy tanks at 300 to 500m

Better than anything we have now.
Far better than just running up to tanks with TNT and explosive packs. It’d just take time to get used to.

They can’t reach a 200~500m tank.
This reason I use Ofenrohr instead of using Panzerfaust-100.
Not really, you can pen Super Pershing against the hull with 162mm of pen. And that’s where ammo is located. Even King Tiger has issues of penning it’s turret so you always want to aim for the hull. So it doesn’t matter if it will have 180mm of pen or 250mm you will be penning it no problem.

162mm is rarely enough.
We need more than 200mm leisurely.
I think 180mm would be too hard.
And by the side
We need to give M9A1 (230~250mm pen) with T59 Rocket in the US.
Anything more than what we have now is an improvement.
Not every tank is 200~500m away, plus with skill and muscle memory one can adapt to engaging enemy armour at a greater distance. Plus even if one can only reasonably attack a tank at 75~100 using the Ji Te Dan, it’s still much better than needing to be 0-10 metres rn in high br with packs and tnt.

Well, the Pacific makes it possible.
Not really your projectile flies and lands from above so it hits even harder than in a straight line. 38.1+101.6mm=139.7mm even with sharp angle it won’t reach more than 175mm of armor.
No we don’t need more than 200mm of pen actually we don’t need more than 180mm but with parity of the nations they can have that magical 200mm that won’t change anything, you will be penning hull no problem and turret will still be unpenetrated

You can just adapt to the drop of the Ji Ti Dan it’d still be far better than anything else rn. And with almost 1600 games as Japan for myself rn, more often than not the environment being so open allows you to close a lot of that distance. 75%↑ of my tank kills are from having to run within 15 metres of tanks. Ji Ti Dan would be amazing to reduce some of that distance. 200~500m engagement range isn’t a primary need imo, those distances are better for tank vs tank engagements and using planes.
Heat deals same dmg no matter the range so it doesn’t matter. But honestly i’m worried how much pen you can have in such small AT nade probably not much like grb-39 so i hope Japanese main are not screwing themselves over
